  • David Cassidy Of The Partridge Family Pleads Guilty To DWI

    Times Union reports that '70s pop singer and The Partridge Family star David Cassidy plead guilty to a DWI charge in upstate New York yesterday, Sept. 3. This plea deal stems from an incident near Albany last summer, in which the 64-year-old singer was pulled over for reportedly failing to dim his headlights to oncoming traffic, and was discovered to be driving while intoxicated. Cassidy was visiting New York for the Saratoga Race Course meet.

    In a recent interview with D8 TV in France, Libertines frontman Pete Doherty revealed that one of the potential producers for the band's comeback album is none other than Jack White, claiming that the former White Stripes frontman "said he'd like to produce" the album, which would be their first since their 2004 sophomore effort The Libertines.

    Gotye (born Wally De Backer) of "Somebody That I Used To Know" fame has formed a political party with his band The Basics to run in November's Victorian State election in Australia, The Guardian reports. De Backer and his bandmates Kris Schroeder and Tim Heath are forming The Basics Roc'n'Roll party to run as the antithesis to what Schoreder described to The Guardian as "lifelong politicians." The platform they are running on is based on three key principles: innovation, education, and rock 'n' roll.

    Jay Z, Kanye West and Rihanna are about to "Run This Town" every Thursday night in the name of sports. Following the announcement and release of Carrie Underwood's Sunday Night Football theme "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," the less popular Thursday Night Football institution announced it will use the new classic hip-hop track to soundtrack its games.

    Led Zeppelin's reissues of their classic albums Led Zeppelin IV and Houses of the Holy won't be released until Oct. 28, but you can check out one of their previously unreleased bonus tracks right now. An alternate version of Led Zeppelin IV's classic opener "Black Dog" can be heard over at Billboard.

When we hear how tough it is for musicians to get buy on royalty payments and album sales, it makes us kind of sick to hear that executives are taking juicier cuts for themselves. The prime example is Universal Music executive Duncan Schwier, who stole $1 million over the course of ten years from the company.
