Tupac Shakur reportedly auditioned to be in 'Star Wars'
Before his death, Tupac Shakur reportedly auditioned for the part of Jedi Master Mace Windu in 1999's Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, according the website 2Pac-Forum. Rick Clifford, who worked as an engineer at Death Row Records, told the website in an interview that Shakur had told him about going to a reading with George Lucas for the film. Unfortunately for Pac, the part ultimately went to Samuel L. Jackson. -

Last week's Digital Downloads Top 10 (Top 50 for that matter) all saw an increase in sales thanks to the giving of iTunes gift cards, etc. during the holidays. That resulted in this week's inevitable drop off for all of the songs in the Top 10, which all saw a decrease in sales from last week. That doesn't mean sales were bad however: Five songs still broke 200,000 in total downloads, up from the typical two or three. -

King Krule, one of Music Times' favorite artists of 2013, has released his latest music video for his track "A Lizard State" off last year's 6 Feet Beneath The Moon. The Jamie-James Medina-directed video pays tribute to Alfred Hitchcock's 1954 film Dial M For Murder and even got the go-ahead from Hitchcock's estate. -

On December 17th a post ran on xoJane.com entitled "I Dated a Famous Rockstar and All I Got Was Punched in the Face." Part of the "It Happened to Me" series, the anonymous writer has a detailed recount of her alleged relationship with Bright Eyes' front man Conor Oberst. The post has been reblogged on Tumblr and from there spread like wildfire, causing Oberst and his team to release a statement to AbsolutePunk.net.
