    American Idol has always been about making a superstar out of someone undiscovered, but for its 15th and final season, FOX enlisted one of music's biggest producers and rappers for his own shot at the Idol crown: Kanye West. After months and months of teasers and snippets, on Tuesday (Jan. 5), just one day before the Idol premiere, West's full audition with "Gold Digger" has arrived online.

While his name was not inspired by the character portrayed by Mark Hamill in the "Star Wars" trilogy, Lucas took offense to him using it as his DJ moniker.
