  • Katy Perry announces Prismatic World Tour 2014 kickoff in England with opening act Icona Pop [FULL TOUR DATES]

    Things are about to get a little lighter. Today (Nov. 18), Katy Perry has announced that she will be hitting the road in 2014. The "Unconditionally" singer took to her official Twitter account this morning to announce the Prismatic World Tour, which will kick off in Belfast, Ireland, in May 2014.

  • Lady Gaga's 'ARTPOP' sells 250,000 copies, loses Interscope $25 million

    News has already broken that Lady Gaga's ARTPOP will debut at no. 1 in the U.K. charts, and there's a solid chance it will do the same in the United States. That doesn't mean that the album can be considered a success however. Estimates, which will become officials first week totals on Wednesday, suggest that ARTPOP will sell around 250,000 copies and lose Interscope Records a lot of money in the process.

    The late, great Lou Reed will be getting his due in book form. A biography of The Velvet Underground rocker is currently in the works for publishing company Little, Brown and Co. by Rolling Stone writer Anthony DeCurtis.

    The tenth anniversary Rock The Bells tour didn't do too well, but one of its main organizers told Vibe magazine during an interview that the traveling festival was far from dead. Although the show was forced to cancel several East Coast shows, Chang Weisberg of Guerilla Union said that a big year for hip-hop touring hurt Rock The Bells' chances, and he was optimistic for 2014.

    Consequence of Sound is reporting that Bruce Springsteen will release a new song called "High Hopes" tomorrow (November 19) — citing Danish music service Wimp, who reported news of the song's release over the weekend as well as song's supposed artwork.

    Lady Gaga doesn't just have a successful, hilarious run on "Saturday Night Live" to celebrate today. The "Do What U Want" singer has a No. 1 album. Today (Nov. 17), it was announced that Gaga's third studio album "Artpop" debuted at the top of the charts in the UK, surpassing new releases from Celine Dion, Little Mix and more.
  • Kanye West to premiere 'Bound 2' music video Tuesday on 'Ellen'

    Kanye West fans, time to set your DVRs. The "Yeezus" rapper is expected to debut his new music video on Tuesday through a slightly unexpected medium... the daytime TV talk show "Ellen." The hardened rapper will stop by with America's favorite comedienne to premiere the clip for "Bound 2" on Nov. 19.
  • Muslim Brotherhood rappers in Egypt fight party ban with underground music

    The Muslim Brotherhood has been having a difficult time in Egypt. After its star Mohamed Morsi, the first democratically elected President in Egypt, was removed from office by the military over the summer, the party has felt a similar backlash from the government. The incoming regime has made the Muslim Brotherhood an illegal organization. One of its members methods of fighting back may surprise westerners: hip-hop music.
