Beatles' 'White Album' Retreat in India Reopens to Public
Almost 50 years after the Beatles' first visit to India to learn medititation under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the famed retreat where most of "The White Album" was written, has been officially reopened to the public. The ashram in the city of Rishikesh had been abandoned since the '70s -- but that's never stopped Fab Four fanatics from making their way to the grounds on which the Beatles once practiced meditation alongside The Beach Boys' Mike Love. -

Appearing in the freshly released Netflix special, 'A Very Murray Christmas,' Bill Murray and Phoenix combined their contrasting musical abilities to tackle a cover of a rare Beach Boys holiday tune, "Alone on Christmas Day." The track was originally written in 1979 for a Beach Boys Christmas LP, but was ultimately scrapped and never saw an actual release. A demo version of the track has been floating around as a bootleg for years. -
