  • Cannibal Ox Announces 'Blade of the Ronin'

    New York hip-hop duo Cannibal Ox have announced the release of their long-awaited sophomore effort "Blade of the Ronin" — that is the cover artwork up above. According to "Hip-Hop DX," the album is set for release March 3 and was mostly produced by Bill Cosmiq. Among the album's featured artists include MF Doom, U-God of Wu-Tang Clan, Elzhi, The Artifacts, Double A.B., Kenyattah Black, Space, Swave Sevah, Elohem Star, Irealz and The Quantum.

    Next month, Led Zeppelin will be releasing the remastered edition of their classic 1975 album, 'Physical Graffiti,' with a bonus disc of alternate mixes, and today the rough mix of one of the album's standout tracks "Houses of the Holy" has been shared, which you can check out below. Even if you're not an audiophile, the differences between this version and the original are quite obvious — the bass is more prominent, the drums are looser, Robert Plant's vocals (particularly the backing vocals) are pushed up in the mix, and there are less guitar overdubs. It's a fascinating listen for diehard Zeppelin fans, but you probably won't prefer this to the album version.
  • Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Announce North American Tour in Support of New Album 'Chasing Yesterday' [FULL SCHEDULE]

    In support of his upcoming studio album, 'Chasing Yesterday,' former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher will be hitting the road with his backing band, High Flying Birds, for a spring tour of North America. According to reports, the tour will kick off on May 3 in Toronto and hit New Orleans, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, DC, and many other cities before finishing up June 7 with Gallagher's appearance at Governor's Ball in New York City.

    Last fall, Ryan Adams and Jenny Lewis hit the road together in support of their acclaimed 2014 albums, 'Ryan Adams' and 'The Voyager,' respectively, and today it was announced that the two would be joining forces once again. According to reports, both Adams and Lewis have announced new tour dates for the spring, and will be playing together for four dates in late April and early May. The tours will commence following their appearances at Coachella 2015, where both will be performing on April 12 and 19 (separately, but don't be surprised if they play a song or two together).
  • Sleater-Kinney Songs 'Heavy When I Need It,' 'The Fog and Filthy Air' Surface Online [LISTEN]

    Sleater-Kinney's reunion album "No Cities to Love" is out today, Jan. 20, through Sub Pop, and though the digital and CD versions of the album come with 10 songs, two exclusive, vinyl-only tracks have surfaced online, which you can check out below, via "Stereogum." The first track "Heavy When I Need It" features a rare lead vocal performance from Carrie Brownstein, while the second "The Fog and Filthy Air" puts Corin Tucker back up front. They are excellent songs in which the legendary punk trio leans in to their more psychedelic impulses.

    Swedish singer-songwriter José González has shared a new song titled "Leaf Off/The Cave" from his forthcoming album Vestiges & Claws, which you can check out below. It's a gorgeous song, and in typical González fashion, it's largely based around finger-picked classical guitar and hushed vocals, but there's also some considerable influence taken from African and South American music, particularly when it comes to the percussion and rhythms.

    New York punk trio The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion have announced a new album titled Freedom Tower - No Wave Dance Party 2015 (that's the cover up above), and have shared a music video for the album's lead single "Do The Get Down," which you can check out below. According to Pitchfork, the album is set for release on March 24 through Mom + Pop, and is a concept album about New York City, "a chronicle of grit and terror and love."

According to "The Boot," the Riot Tour kicks off May 29 in St. Louis and will see the group visiting 32 cities, including one stop in Toronto and one in Cozumel, Mexico. Scotty McCreery will be joining the group on tour as a special guest.

    Los Angeles rapper Eric Bellinger has shared the music video for his Nas-sampling track "Focused on You" featuring 2 Chainz, which you can check out below. The Daniel CZ-directed clip finds Bellinger and 2 Chainz rapping in a mansion while some sort of business deal involving briefcases is going down out by the pool. Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson makes a cameo, and just in case he was not enough of an early 2000s throwback for you, R&B singer Mýa also makes an appearance as Bellinger's love interest — though she seems to be a bit of a forbidden love interest.   • Common Drops Verse on Stacy Barthe's 'Live for Today' [LISTEN]

    Fresh off of his Golden Globe win — and as of this morning, Academy Award nomination — for his song "Glory" from the movie "Selma," Chicago rapper Common has dropped a new verse on Stacy Barthe's "Live for Today," which you can check out below. As its title implies, the song is about seizing the day and not waiting around for moments of greatness to come, with Common asking, "I know the world is changing / But I'm still in my mind, where the peace be?" The true highlight of the track, however, is Benny Cassette's excellent production, which is based around a killer bassline and some jazzy electric piano chords.   • Wiz Khalifa, Fall Out Boy Announce Co-Headlining 'Boys Of Zummer' Tour [SCHEDULE]

    How is this for a weird concert: Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa. According to "radio.com," the pop-punk veterans have announced a co-headlining summer tour with the stoner rap superstar, dubbed "Boys of Zummer," with Long Island rapper Hoodie Allen joining as the opener. The tour kicks off June 10 in Camden, New Jersey — what, Philly wouldn't take them? — and finishes Aug. 10 in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale Jan. 23 through Live Nation. This tour comes in support of Fall Out Boy's upcoming album "American Beauty/American Psycho," which is set for releae Jan. 20. It will be the band's sixth studio album, their first since their 2013 comeback "Save Rock and Roll." As for Khalifa, this tour continues his support for his fifth album "Blacc Hollywood," which was released back in August. You can check out the complete "Boys of Zummer" tour dates here:
