Eric Prydz Unveils CHVRCHES 'Tether' Remix, Album Is In 'Final Stages'
Swedish producer Eric Prydz does not release music often, but when he does, he makes it count. He has previewed his remix for CHVRCHES track "Tether" from their 2013 album The Bones Of What You Believe. The "Everyday" producer premiered the remix to the world during his Ultra Music Festival set in 2014 and has since been tweaking it and playing the rework out in his live sets. 10 months later, it has been signed, named the hottest record in the world by Zane Lowe and has an official UK release date - March 29th. During his short interview after with Zane Lowe, the "Liberate" producer dishes on his long awaited artist album, saying it is in "Final stages, everything is done and it should be ready in two weeks." -
Chvrches To Follow-Up Debut 'The Bones of What You Believe' By Channeling Michael Jackson, Prince
After wrapping up their UK tour in support of their 2013 breakout The Bones of What You Believe in December, Glasgow synth pop group Chvrches announced that their second album was on its way. Now synth player Martin Doherty has revealed to NME some details on what the band is going for on the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut. -
Lorde Shares Clip Of Old Song 'Lost Boys' Cut From 'Pure Heroine' [LISTEN]
Lorde is currently hard at work (we hope) on her new album, but today (December 10) the 18-year-old Kiwi pop star shared a clip of a song through her Tumblr that she probably won't be releasing officially any time soon. The song, titled "Lost Boys," was written and recorded in 2013 for her debut album "Pure Heroine," but was ultimately cut from the album because "it was not a good song," at least according to Lorde. -
Chvrches Announce Work On Sophomore Album, Share Cover Of Seal's Hit "Crazy" [WATCH]
Chvrches have announced that their second album is on the way in a photo posted to Facebook. "Over 365 shows in two years and we're going home," they wrote. "Work on album two starts in January." The band recently wrapped up a UK tour in support of their 2013 debut The Bones of What You Believe. -

Lorde Covers Jeremih's 'Don't Tell 'Em' for BBC [WATCH]
Lorde has proven herself to be a big fan of R&B and hip-hop, having covered Kanye West's "Flashing Lights" in concert and cutting a song with Stromae, Pusha T and Q-Tip for the upcoming "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" soundtrack. For her performance on BBC Radio 1's "Live Lounge," the "Royals" singer once again flaunted her love of those genres by performing a cover of Jeremih's recent hit "Don't Tell 'Em," which you can check out below. "I have basically been a really big fan of this song since I first started hearing it around," Lorde told BBC, via "Pitchfork." "I love the vocal melodies. I think they're really smart and just consider them cool. It's quite a saucy song or something and I think it would be interesting to flip the dynamic and make that power mine." For their contribution to the soundtrack for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," synthpop trio CHVRCHES take listeners on a breezy ride with "Dead Air." As "Consequence of Sound" points out, the group has been playing the song live for awhile now, using fake titles during shows. It is contemporary pop laced in heavy synthesizers and effects with lyrics that Katniss Everdeen will appreciate. -

Chvrches Share Animated Sci-Fi Music Video For "Under The Tide" [WATCH]
Scottish synthpop trio Chvrches have shared the music video for their latest single “Under The Tide,” which you can check out below. The Sing J. Lee-directed video uses animation and psychedelic visuals to tell some sort of sci-fi story while synth-player Martin Doherty sings along the track. The band’s other two members, Lauren Mayberry and Iain Cook, show up as well towards the video’s end. -
Lorde Enlists Kanye West, Haim, Charli XCX for 'Hunger Games' Soundtrack
Back in September, it was reported that Lorde and Kanye West were working on some new music together, and today we have learned why. "Consequence of Sound" reports that Kanye has provided a remix of Lorde's "Yellow Flicker Beat" for the soundtrack to the upcoming "Hunger Games" movie, which Lorde has curated. Other artists appearing on the soundtrack include Charli XCX, Haim, Bat for Lashes, Pusha T, Q-Tip and CHVRCHES. -

If you roll your eyes at the term "blogosphere," at least acknowledge the truth the music world on the internet is vastly different from real-life music. The most telling example is Hype Machine's yearly 'Music Blog Zeitgeist,' which counts down the Top 50 performers based on how often they're mentioned in over 820 prominent music blogs. Hint: Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Eminem, Jay Z and Katy Perry didn't make the list.
