• David Letterman's Best Hip-Hop Moments: Run D.M.C., Beastie Boys, J. Cole and More

David Letterman has long been known as a lover of rock 'n' roll...all it takes to get the late night host on your side was to behave erratically or energetically onstage, which would almost certainly merit an "oh boy!" It took a little bit more to get the longtime host of the 'The Late Show' fired up for hip-hop however. To honor Letterman as he prepares to host the last night of his 33-year run on CBS (and to avoid conflicting with everyone else's list of the best performances ever on the show), Music Times has gathered up five great hip-hop performances that took place late night over the years, with almost all coming from emcees in Letterman's adopted hometown of New York City, including Run-D.M.C. and The Beastie Boys.

  • Stream Wale's 'The Album About Nothing'

Wale fans, the time has arrived: "The Pessimist" rapper has released his long-awaited fourth artist album 'The Album About Nothing.' Far from an album about nothing, it touches on heavy subjects like depression, drug and alcohol abuse and a miscarriage. The LP does all of this while also maintaining a fun side with the strong connection to Jerry Seinfeld and his show 'Seinfeld,' pulling excerpts from the show and pieces of their conversations together. The album is not packed filled with features but makes the most of each one with guest spots from J. Cole, Usher, Jeremih, SZA and Seinfeld.

  • Kendrick Vs. Everybody: How Did 'To Pimp A Butterfly' Sell Compared to Recents from Kanye West, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and More?

Kendrick Lamar was certainly king of the Billboard 200 this week, as To Pimp A Butterfly sold three times as many copies as any other record on the market during the last week. Part of the hip-hop game, more so than any other genre, is arguing about who's no. 1. Generally that means a ranking of who can drop the best bars, but money—regardless of what Jay Z and Jermaine Dupri tell you—is most certainly a thang. So how does the most hyped performer in recent years stack up against industry giants in terms of sales?
