    Jay Z is undefeated in court this week as a judge threw out the case from label TufAmerica that claims Jay Z and his crew used an illegal sample for its 2009 hit "Run This Town." The lawsuit received many a narrowed eyebrow over its claims that the song sampled the phrase "oh," specifically the "oh" featured on the Eddie Bo recording "Hook & Sling Part 1," versus any other "oh" uttered by any other performer in the history of recorded music.

Other artists to reach the million sales mark this year were Taylor Swift with "1989" and Ariana Grande with "My Everything." The soundtrack from Disney's "Frozen" also went platinum.

    Beanie Sigel was shot earlier this morning (Dec. 5) outside of his home in Pleasantville, N.J. The rapper suffered a gunshot wound to the to the back and was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, NBC Philadelphia 10 reports. Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, is reportedly still in surgery.

    A new list ranking the wealthiest recording artists has surfaced recently and Madonna is in the number one spot. The "Like a Virgin" singer beat out Paul McCartney, Dr. Dre and Sean "Diddy" Combs with an estimated net worth of $800 million, Wealth-X reports. Other notable stars on the list include Bono, Celine Dion and Elton John.

Jay Z is the only musician to make the list, coming in at No. 3.
