Kanye West

  • Kanye West opens up on Juan Epstein podcast about his life starting out as a producer and his current celebrity lifestyle

Kanye West has a lot going on in his life right now with a new baby, an upcoming wedding and all of the other things that come with being a hip hop mogul who has a lot of opinions. He always has a lot of projects brewing at any given time, not always related to music (i.e. his cameo in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues out Dec. 18). But on Juan Epstein's podcast, hosted by Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds, the artist speaks about his roots in rap.
  • NME's Best Albums List invoke Arctic Monkeys, Queens of The Stone Age and (surprise!) Kanye West

We've already spread the word on what two of the biggest names in music media, Rolling Stone and SPIN, have been listening to during 2013. But what about our friends across the pond? NME has joined in the end of the year fun, releasing its own list of the Top 50 albums of the year. The bad news is that you have to buy the issue to get the full list (looks like those Brits are trying to generate a profit, something the rest of us music media types have given up on), but they were kind enough to share their Top 3 to the general public.
  • Rolling Stone releases its own Top 50 Albums of The Year list...now Vampire Weekend challenges Kanye West

It just must be the time of the year for announcing one's albums of the year, as Rolling Stone has also released its list of the best 50 for 2013 (Music Times will publish its list December 21). SPIN also published its own list of best records this week, as we reported yesterday. Considering the number of albums released during the year, there was a decent amount shared, relatively, within the Top 5 of both publications.
  • SPIN releases annual list of best albums; Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, and Vampire Weekend vie for top spot

SPIN Magazine, one of our most trusted sources for music across many genres, has released its annual list of the best 50 albums of the year. Yes, it's a bit early (not going to give Britney Spears a fair shot guys?), but we're sure they're just trying to beat the holiday rush (you'll be able to check out Music Times' albums of the year list on December 23, and our staffers' respective playlists of the year on December 16). The top album is something you've definitely heard of, but may still come as a surprise.
  • Kanye West explains why G.O.O.D. Music artists aren't on his Yeezus tour

It has been a prolific year for G.O.O.D. Music with the release of Kanye West's Yeezus, Pusha T's My Name is My Name, and 2 Chainz's B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time. But as MTVNews points out, West chose not to bring any of his G.O.O.D. Music artists with him on his Yeezus tour.
  • Kanye West and Kim Kardashian approve of James Franco and Seth Rogen's 'Bound 2' spoof, dubbed 'Bound 3'

You guys, it's okay. Kanye West didn't flip out over the Seth Rogen/James Franco shot-for-shot parody of his "Bound 2" video, dubbed "Bound 3." In fact, he thought it was hilarious. Phew.
  • Seth Rogen and James Franco spoof Kanye West’s “Bound 2″ video with an equally steamy shoot

Kanye West's music video for Bound 2 was released last week and stirred up a lot of attention, considering his soon-to-be-wife and reality TV star Kim Kardashian appeared topless, straddling him on a motorcycle. Now Bound 3 has been released, but it features different couple.
  • Kanye West talks new album, new Watch The Throne with Jay Z, 'Cruel Winter' mixtape

If you're tired of Kanye West being at the fore of every hip-hop discussion, then you better sit down for this one. It looks like the rapper will be resurrecting Yeezus for a follow-up album to debut next year.

  • David Blaine makes Kanye West giggle with disbelief

Illusionist David Blaine's new show "Real or Magic" just aired on ABC, and during the 90-minute special, Blaine proceeds to completely mystify a variety of A-list celebrities, including Kanye West, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, even Woody Harrelson makes an appearance.
  • Kanye West to premiere 'Bound 2' music video Tuesday on 'Ellen'

Kanye West fans, time to set your DVRs. The "Yeezus" rapper is expected to debut his new music video on Tuesday through a slightly unexpected medium... the daytime TV talk show "Ellen." The hardened rapper will stop by with America's favorite comedienne to premiere the clip for "Bound 2" on Nov. 19.
  • Kanye West and 'Yeezus' tour go off without a hitch on first night back in Philadelphia

Much has been made about Kanye West's "Yeezus" tour, and most of it doesn't have anything to do with the performances themselves. Rather, most of the attention has been focused on frequent cancellations and postponements. The tour seems to be back on track, for the time being, as it picked up where it left off in Philadelphia on Saturday night.
