• The Weeknd, One Direction See Major Gains on Charts

The Weeknd may not be able to feel his face but he can feel the sweet, sweet taste of victory: after three weeks of playing second fiddle, the R&B star's Max Martin produced new single "Can't Feel My Face" has finally taken over OMI's "Cheerleader" as the No. 1 song in the country. In a major week of shakeups for the Billboard Hot 100, The Weeknd isn't the only one who is able to take a win: One Direction's new single "Drag Me Down" also debuted high on the charts.
  • Billboard Hot 100 v. Official Charts Company: Mariah Carey, Madonna and 40 Years of No. 1s

Few people realize just how different the music across the pond is from that we listen to in America, that the Hot 100 doesn't exist in the UK, and that its equivalent to our singles chart doesn't just feature a whole bunch of American artists with even more One Direction and Ellie Goulding tracks. Music Times is looking back at the last four decades of music, and at the no. 1 hits on August 10 every ten years on the spot, going back to 1975. The ultimate contest, of course, is which country has better taste. Last month the win went to the UK in the best-of-five showdown. This month features Mariah Carey, One Direction, TLC and more in the field.
  • One Direction Debut 'Drag Me Down,' Talk Louis Tomlinson Baby and New Album on 'GMA'

It was a big morning for One Direction and the band's dedicated fan base, as they took on Good Morning America. Ahead of their On the Road Again Tour stop in New Jersey tomorrow (Aug. 5), 1D took to the ABC morning show to open up about their new album, impending fatherhood for Louis Tomlinson and, of course, to give their new single "Drag Me Down" its big live TV debut.
  • Zayn Malik Signs to RCA Four Months After Quitting One Direction

It's been four months since Zayn Malik quit One Direction and now the former boy band member has totally revealed why he left the group - to go solo. Today (July 29), Malik announced on his Twitter that he has signed to RCA Records to release his first solo album.
  • Queen Elizabeth and Concerts: The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, One Direction and More

Fifty years ago on this date, The Beatles debuted its new film, Help!, in London and there was a very big name in the crowd at the debut: Queen Elizabeth II. This constituted arguably the greatest gathering of famous British-folk in the last century, while also demonstrating that the monarch was more than happy to take in popular entertainment along with her constituents (a fan site for the Royal Family notes that she has considerably more "lowbrow" taste than her husband, Prince Philip). If you need more proof of the Queen's enjoyment of popular music, here are some more instances from recent (and not so recent) years.
  • One Direction Stomp on Naughty Boy Pinata in Concert

Everything seems to be good between One Direction and its former bandmate Zayn Malik now, but things are not OK between the boy band and Malik's (former?) producer Naughty Boy. During an On The Road Again Tour stop in Kansas City last night (July 28), 1D members Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson stomped on a piñata with the likeness of Naughty Boy.
  • NBC Airing Ed Sheeran's Wembley Stadium Concerts...with One Huge Special Guest

Ed Sheeran is kind of a big deal in the UK—just look at his streaming numbers from 2015 thus far—so it's no surprise that he can headline a gig at Wembley Stadium. NBC has announced that they'll be airing a special comprised of Sheeran's recent three-date stint at the venue for audiences across the pond.
  • 5 Best Twitter Beefs of 2015: One Direction, Iggy Azalea, Taylor Swift and More

Twitter hasn't been short on beefs for 2015, but this week has blown up the social media service as Meek Mill has called out Drake for allegedly using a ghostwriter, and Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift have gone back and forth about VMA nominations and body shape. They weren't the first musicians to stir things up with 140 characters (or several salvos of 140 characters) this year. Here are five other digital battles that have gone down during 2015 thus far, including One Direction, Iggy Azalea and...believe it or not... not Azealia Banks (we take her tweets for granted anymore).
