    Did you ever find yourself in the car listening to the radio and wondering what the heck was with all these "Blurred Lines?" If so, you were not alone in 2013. Music searching service/smartphone app Shazam has revealed its most tagged songs of the year, and Robin Thicke's monster-hit "Blurred Lines" has topped the list.

    For once, the album sales for the previous week made more headlines than the digital downloads, but that doesn't mean that singles are doing badly at all.     The American Music Awards 2013 took place Sunday night (Nov. 24) in Los Angeles. Awarded by fan votes, the trophies given out that night were easy to predict. Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake, both of whom have had huge years and can boast massive fanbases, were among the big winners of the night.

    Rihanna and J. Cole are two pretty big names in popular music. Look forward to DJ Mustard joining their ranks soon. The producer/beat-maker just signed to Roc Nation, the home of the previously mentioned artists, under an artist's contract of his own. He was previously signed under a management deal with the label.

    Rihanna has been chosen to receive the first-ever "AMA Icon Award" at the America Music Awards later this month. The six-time AMA winner will also be performing at the event November 24 on NBC.
  • Philippine Typhoon relief aided by iTunes donations

    We know music can be healing, and Apple is showing this in an unexpected way, collecting donations for the American Red Cross through the iTunes store. One-hundred percent of the funds will go toward aiding the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. Currently, CNN reports the death toll is around 2,500. The Associated Press reports than more than 9 million people have been impacted and they fear as many as 10,000 are dead.
