  • Stereosonic Releases 2014 Aftermovie [WATCH]

Many festivals wait months to release their festival video recap as it takes some time to cut the footage and edit it together. Plus, event companies usually wait until they can use the footage as a promotional tool to announce the following festival or help sell tickets for the next year. Stereosonic just threw that model out the window by releasing their aftermovie two weeks after the festival wrapped up, putting together a 6 minute movie filled with crowd shots, interviews with some of the acts who graced the stages around Australia and plenty of clips showing off the massive crowd and production.
  • Tiësto Soundtracks Theme Park Efteling's Water Show

Tiësto has been one of the global ambassadors for dance music for two decades. The "Wasted" DJ has expanded his reach beyond just music into arenas such as creating his own headphone like, partnering with Guess to start a special "Club Life" Tiësto brand of clothing and becoming a spokesman for numerous brands, including 7UP. The Dutch disc jockey has also taken to using his extensive back catalog to score water shows at fountains around the world, via "Dancing Astronaut." Recently, he went back to his native country of the Netherlands and brought his music to the fountains of fairy-tale theme park Efteling. According to Efteling, Tiësto set his music to the third largest water fountain show in the world, titled "Aquanura." Mixing between new and old, with some added cinematic interludes, the production was almost as good as a Tiësto festival show. Everything was right on time with matching lights and some added pyrotechnics thrown in for good measure to enthrall the small but enthusiastic crowd in attendance. For something this foreign to dance music, it was well-produced, with seamless transitions between songs, and the visuals matched effortlessly.
  • Tiësto Releases 'Drunk in Love' Remix as Free Download [LISTEN]

Tiësto is a master at social media, so it is no surprise to see him reach 19 million fans on Facebook. To celebrate the achievement, Tijs Verwest — better known as Tiësto — has given out his remix of Beyoncé's smash single "Drunk in Love" as a free download. The "Red Lights" disc jockey gives the single a festival-sized melodic treatment, with big airy synths and a thumping bass line to compliment the cries from the "Flawless" singer. Old fans will be disappointed to see another release in 128 beats per minute with a standard four on the floor kick and festival-driven melody, but the new Tiësto has directed his new music to work for his DJ sets. Hitting 19M fans on Facebook is amazing! As thanks here’s my remix of @Beyonce’s Drunk In Love http://t.co/gHgtQnRcoA pic.twitter.com/2zZbdTzZws — Tiësto (@tiesto) December 18, 2014

  • Resident Advisor Releases Top 100 DJs Poll; The Anti-DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll

When it comes to DJ polls, there are two very different opposite rankings for the top DJs in the world. The most controversial one, the DJ Mag Top 100, relies on fan voting to rank the top DJs in the world, which predictably has main stage heavyweights like Hardwell, Tiesto, Avicii, Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix and others top the list. In a very different twist of events, Resident Advisor, a standard for underground dance music, has its own opinion on which the top DJs in the world are. German Steffan Berkhahn, label owner of Berlin based Innervisions Recordings and professionally known as Dixon, topped the poll for a second straight year, while others like Seth Troxler, Richie Hawtin, Tale Of Us and others trailed not far behind.
