Kanye West overthrew Taylor Swift as the most streamed artist on Spotify Global on Jan. 13 but bragged about it days later.

The "Gold Digger" rapper shared an X (formerly known as Twitter) post from the Daily Loud that included a screenshot of Spotify's Daily Top Artists Global ranking.

However, netizens were quick to point out that the ranking only lasted a day, and that it was already old news since the "Cruel Summer" hitmaker quickly returned to the No. 1 spot by the time he posted about it.

"All of this just for Taylor to go back to #1 as she has been for the past 293728373 days. Kanye, you're obsessed," one wrote.

"He knows she makes him famous that's why he keeps talking about her,' another added, referencing West's 2016 song "Famous," which included a jab at Swift.

"Taylor is back to No. 1. Now he looks extra goofy."

"He looks goofy because this update is from Monday."

"Embarrassing cause it only lasted a day and Taylor is already back at No. 1, he's still on Feb 11," another remarked.

Kanye West Drops 'Vultures' Album With Ty Dolla $ign

West overtaking Swift on Spotify's Global Artist ranking came shortly after the release of his joint album with Ty Dolla $ign, "Vultures 1."

The album yielded two singles "Vultures," released on Nov. 22, 2023, and "Talking / Once Again," released on Feb. 8, 2024.

This is the rapper's first release in three years; he dropped "Donda" in 2021, and fans have been asking that he return to the music scene since then.

The hip-hop duo also noted that "Vultures 1" will be followed up by two more albums, " Vultures 2" and "Vultures 3," which will be released on Mar. 8 and Apr. 5, respectively.

Meanwhile, "Vultures 1' was met with disappointment from Metracritic; the album was given a 49/100 rating. The Guardian gave West and Ty Dolla $ign's album a two-star review.

"There are hopelessly weak verses from West - if you like feeble sex rhymes laden with unfunny puns, Vultures is very much the album for you," the publication's review read.

Taylor Swift Reigns Over Spotify Global

Swift, on the other hand, recently earned her fourth Album of the Year award from the Recording Academy for her 10th studio album, "Midnights."

The album yielded several singles including "Anti-Hero," a consistent chart-topper, "Lavender Haze," and "Karma."

These songs, along with her other discography were consistently streamed by Swifties, and it resulted in the singer being named Spotify's Global Top Artist in 2023.
