After a disappointing Rolling Loud California appearance, Kanye West is going to Africa to perform at the Egyptian pyramids.

The move to Africa came after insider sources revealed that Kanye West has been banned from performing in Europe, Asia, Australia, and some other parts of South America.

Kanye West Appearing in Egypt?

According to Billboard, Kanye West will appear at the Step Pyramid of Djoser on Apr. 20 at 8 p.m. local time in Saqqara, Egypt, for a Vultures 1 listening party.

As of this writing, West has not revealed any more details. Should the anticipated appearance take place, he and Ty Dolla Sign would be the first hip-hop artists to perform at the pyramids -- if they actually perform.

Notably, Travis Scott's attempt to perform in 2023 at the Great Pyramid of Giza was called off after the Egyptian Musicians Syndicate scrapped it and revoked the rapper's license to perform at the venue. They cited "rituals" in his artistic values as the reason for the revocation, as they believed it contradicted Middle Eastern culture.

"After examining social media opinions and feedback, as well as the news circulating on search engines and social media platforms, which included authenticated images and information about peculiar rituals performed by the star during his performance, contradicting our authentic societal values and traditions, the Syndicate's president and board of directors have decided to cancel the license issued for hosting this type of concert, which goes against the cultural identity of the Egyptian people," the Syndicate said.

As of this writing, the Syndicate has yet to react to West's plans to appear at the Pyramids.

Kanye West Banned In Multiple Countries

Kanye West's antisemitic comments and controversial takes have cost him not just his fortune but also his access to perform in some countries internationally. Reportedly, Kanye has been banned from performing in Australia, Asia, and Europe because no one wants to associate with his problematic image because of intense scrutiny and backlash.

Most recently, inside sources revealed that Kanye has been banned from performing in Rio after he expressed interest in performing at the Copacabana Beach.

"The image of Kanye is way too controversial," an insider working for Rio's government told The Sun. "Nobody wants to be linked to him and his recent controversies."
