Most of the footage currently being shown on The Real Housewives of Atlanta was filmed before Phaedra Parks's husband Apollo Nida began serving an eight-year jail sentence for fraud. The scenes with the two of them together at times have been just plain scary. Nida had real issues with Parks not supporting him as he prepared for jail and she had problems with him turning back into a criminal that she could not count on. When she did suffer through a conversation with him, Nida seemed to be calmly threatening her. Parks also revealed that Nida destroyed property and threatened to burn their house down.

While Parks has never accused Nida of any type of abuse, she did admit on a recent episode that he had punched holes in the walls of their house and had threatened to burn the whole place down, according to Radar Online, before going to jail. While Parks tried to play it off as crazy talk, it just proved that she really had good reason to be relieved when her former love was finally incarcerated.

Once he was safely behind bars, Parks finally then confirmed what everyone expected: She would be filing for divorce. Obviously this guy was bad news. How bad do you think things really got behind closed doors? If Nida was punching holes in walls, then it is hard to imagine that their two young sons never saw any of his bad behavior, isn't it? Did the kids see more than enough? Do you think that is why she has refused to bring them to visit their father, who is being held in Kentucky?

Parks has talked a lot about raising her boys to be responsible and respectful men. Is she cutting them off from Nida to send the message that men who treat their wives badly ultimately lose their kids, too? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
