This whole Kanye West/Beck media storm has been exhausting, and it has been little more than half a day since West stormed Beck's Album of the Year acceptance speech with a faux interruption on Beyoncé's behalf. West said, "I love Beck" at the airport, but still thinks Queen Bey should have won the award.

To recap: Beck's Morning Phase and Beyoncé's Beyoncé were both up for the award. When Prince announced Beck as the winner, Kanye leapt onstage, to the horror of Bey and Jay Z. Alas, he did not make an onstage demand that the Grammys rethink their decision.

No, he had the decency to wait until after the show to get his message across.

"Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé, and at this point, we tired of it," Yeezy said. "Because what happens is, when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you're disrespectful to inspiration and we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day and they listen to that Beyoncé album and they feel like it takes them to another place."

After all that, you wouldn't blame Beck if he went on an anti-Kanye tirade. But, in fact, he did the opposite, saying,
"[West] deserves to be on that stage."

"You can't please everybody," Beck said. "I still love him and think he's genius. I aspire to what he does. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?"

Apparently wanting to make amends for his fiery post-Grammys statements, West spoke with Splash News, via radio.com, at the airport.

"No, I wasn't saying Beck -- I was saying the Grammys," he said, referring to his object of distaste. "C'mon, I love Beck ... but he didn't have [the] album of the year. Beck knows that Beyoncé should have won."

It is virtually certain that we will never hear the end of this from Kanye. Stay tuned.
