Regardless of what you think of Young Thug's music, his ability to stay in the public eye is remarkable. In a recent interview (watch below), the "Stoner" rapper managed to stir up some fresh controversy dealing with his old nemesis, though he would have you think otherwise, Lil Wayne. In an interview with NDO Radio, Thugger revealed that he plans to release a mixtape in the coming months before his album Hy!£UN35 arrives in August. As another jab at Lil Wayne and Cash Money, he says he wants to name the tape Carter V because Lil Wayne hasn't dropped his album yet and is unclear on what they are doing.

The name will cause a similar if not more amount of controversy than Thugger's last album Barter 6, which he originally titled Carter 6, but had to change the title after legal action was threatened against him.

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V is currently a primary piece of evidence in Weezy's protracted and heated legal battle with his former member and Cash Money Records don Birdman over the release of the long-awaited album and alleged payments owed to Lil Wayne and his roster of artists on Young Money.

It seems likely that Weezy would try and block the usage of his upcoming album title name, especially if he was able to block Carter 6 from occurring. However if the product is being released for free, Wayne may not have the same legal standing to block it like if Thugger wanted to sell the tape.

In addition to stating his plans for his upcoming mixtape, Thugger gave some clarification on his label and management situation, saying he is not managed by Rich Gang or Birdman and is only on Atlantic Records and 300. Rich Gang appears to be losing its biggest members recently, first Rich Homie Quan and now apparently Young Thug.
