iHeartRadio Music Awards just announced what fans should expect for this year's show-which is going to be a banger because not only are this year's nominees list a short, short list, but the show will also be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Every year, fans gather to witness history-in-the-making at music award shows, and this 2023, the iHeartRadio Music Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Mar. 27.
The show will be aired both live and on tape, which is expected to be a little more delayed; the live show starts at 8 p.m. and will go on until 10 p.m.
According to reports, two of the biggest categories in the show, female and male artist of the year, will be replaced with a single and gender-neutral category, artist of the year.
For this category, iHeartRadio nominated five female artists, namely Beyonce, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, and Dua Lipa; as well as five male artists: Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Jack Harlow, The Weeknd, and Drake.
Under the duo/group category, Silk Sonic is back to defend their title against their new fellow nominees: Black Eyed Peas, BLACKPINK, Glass Animals, Imagine Dragons, Maneskin, OneRepublic, AJR, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Parmalee.
Variety reports that on the top of the pack of nominees, Swift, Lizzo, and Styles are leading, with eight nominations each.
They are followed by Lipa, Drake, and Harlow with six nominations. These three artists will go head-to-head in two of the biggest categories: artist of the year and song of the year.

10th Anniversary
iHeartRadio released several statements regarding the highly-anticipated event, noting that this will be an award show that no one should miss out on.
"It's been a great year for music with so many inspiring hits, we can't wait to celebrate these artists and songs at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards," Tom Peloman, president and chief programming officer of the media giant, said.
"Our annual awards show is one of the best in the industry at celebrating the power of music. This year's show will once again entertain fans with incredible performances and special collaborations, it will be the year's must-see event."
Elsewhere in iHeartRadio's announcement details the other lists of nominees, like Best Collaboration, Best New Pop Artist, Country Song of the Year, and more.
