Since launching in the 1980s, Madonna has remained one of the most daring artists of all time because of her controversial music videos, performances, and fashion choices. However, there have been rumors saying that the pop star is losing her confidence after a series of events that happened over the past few weeks.

According to sources who spoke to Page Six, the pop star is having a "crisis of confidence" after she end her ex-boyfriend, Andrew Darnell, have called it quits.

The musician's former lover is said to have found a new girlfriend, who is much more younger than the pop star.

Insiders clarified that Madonna was not broken-hearted even though they dated for a while, but their breakup came at a "bad time."

"She's having a bit of a crisis of confidence and this doesn't help. She had a lot of fun with Andrew but it was never love or anything like that," the source added.

As of this writing, neither Madonna nor Andrew Darnell has commented on the matter.

The outlet noted that the pair met on a photoshoot shortly after the pop star's breakup with Ahlamalik Williams. The pop star and her backup dancer had a three-year relationship.

The recent news comes after Madonna responded to criticisms of her plastic surgery after appearing at this year's Grammy Awards where she presented the best pop duo/group performance award to Sam Smith and Kim Petras for the hit song "Unholy."

Taking to her official Instagram account, the "Material Girl" songstress said people have been focusing on close-up photos of her instead of focusing on her speech, which highlighted the fearlessness of the two artists who won the category.

"Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in," she said, adding that the world refuses to celebrate women aged 45 and up and feels like they need to punish them if they continue to be hardworking.

Madonna also noted that she has been degraded by the public and media since she started out in the music industry, but she understands that the recent controversy about her plastic surgery allegations is all a test and she's happy to be "trailblazing" so the women in the future will have an easier time.
