Billy Porter Reveals Main Goal of New Album, Tour

Porter recently appeared on 100.7 STAR's "Bubba Show" to share further details of his upcoming album, "Black Mona Lisa," and its accompanying tour. According to the multi-talented artist, his new project will mark the first time he will show his authentic self.

He recalled releasing his first R&B/Soul album through A&M Records in 1997, noting that the industry was very homophobic at that time. As a result, he did not have the chance to enjoy his music.

"Blessedly, I had a lot of other talents I could lean into, but now, here I am as the Billy Porter everybody knows. One award away from an EGOT, fashion icon, blah blah blah blah blah, and I get to re-enter the mainstream music space on my own terms," he went on.
