Annually, ACM Awards is one of the biggest nights for country music artists in the United States. It is widely attended by many singers, musicians, and celebrities because of how widely respected the institution is.
One of the attendees this night was the country music band Old Dominion, which is composed of Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung, Brad Tursi, and its vocalist, Matthew Ramsey.
However, fans have spotted that the 45-year-old vocalist was using an accessory many deemed to be old enough for his young age.
Why Was Matthew Ramsey Using A Cane at the 2023 ACM Awards?
Apparently, it was his first venture into "cane-dom," Matthew Ramsey joked to Entertainment Tonight.
As he made his way to the red carpet, Ramsey was seen visibly walking slower and trying to get by each step as he was supported by a cane.
When he was asked by Rachel Smith what the cane was for, Ramsey revealed that it was being used to aid him after a shocking ATV accident.
Earlier this March 2023, Ramsey was involved in an ATV accident that broke his pelvis into three pieces.
In an Instagram post, he addressed the accident light-heartedly.
"The good news is it's gonna heal just fine. The bad news is I'm gonna have to stay home and recover for a little while. I know we all had plans to sing and dance together in Key West," he revealed.
Since then, he has been assuring his fans that he was "fine" and on the path to recovery.
When asked about what they looked forward to the night, guitarist Brad Tursi said that they were excited to see people they haven't seen for a year.

Old Dominion Wins Group of the Year
Right after they said on the red carpet that they were welcome to receive more trophies, Old Dominion scored their first Group of the Year award at the 2023 ACM Awards.
They beat out Lady A, Little Big Town, Midland, and Zac Brown Band in the category. Meanwhile, Chris Stapleton wins Entertainer of the Year while Morgan Wallen notched Male Artist of the Year, and Lainey Wilson for Female Artist of the Year.
Brothers Osbourne won Duo of the Year, Hailey Witthers, and Zach Bryan earned their first ACM awards for Best New Female and Male Artists of the Year, respectively.
