Nick Carter has been struggling to deal with the loss of his brother, Aaron Carter, who sadly passed away in November 2022.

His loving family still finds it hard to cope - their collective grief palpable. In a recent interview, he spoke about how it has impacted them all.

In an interview with ET, the "I Want It That Way" hitmaker confessed, "It's been tough for me and my family."

He said, "It is still something we are processing today. I don't think we will ever really get over it. It's been a lot for us, and we are finding ways to try and take a tragic situation in our family and do something with it."

It was a sad day in Lancaster, California, on November 5, 2022, when the news of the death of 34-year-old Aaron Carter reached his fiancée Melanie Martin and fans all over the globe.

At his Los Angeles County home early that morning, he had been discovered unresponsive and confirmed by his representative.

Nevertheless, Nick, the Carter family, and Aaron's twin Angel have all strived to cope with such tragedy.

Reflecting on his recently released single "Superman," Nick remarked: "For the past 30 years, I've been performing with The Backstreet Boys, and when I'm onstage, it feels like I transform into a different person."

He went on to explain how often he feels like he's donning a disguise when he's away. But when he's home, "nothing changes - I'm just a Dad to my three kids and the same husband to my wife."

"Of course, that's not to say I am Superman - far from it! However, being away reminds me of him in some ways: putting on a cape and a costume and doing what he needs to do."

Nick added, "But I'm kinda like Clark Kent, just back at home. So, in some ways, that's what it means to me. And then, also, many people can take 'Superman' the song and listen to it, and maybe they can relate to it in some way."

The official ruling of Aaron Carter's death was made public by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner on April 2023. As reported by People magazine, the cause of death was listed as accidental, with the coroner noting that the "I'm All About You" artist had been "incapacitated while taking a bath."
