For the first time since her sister Bobbie Jean Carter passed away on December 23 at the age of 41, Angel Carter Conrad is speaking up. Nick Carter remains mum.

Conrad, 36, paid a moving homage to her older sister, whom she referred to as her "best friend" when they were little, on Sunday morning.

"To my older sister Bobbie. You had a great sense of humor, and a lively spirit. Growing up, I was your baby, and you were my best friend," Conrad's message read, which was posted on Instagram along with montage of photographs of Bobbie Jean when she was so much younger.

"Life wasn't fair to you, that I know. Sometimes, it feels like you didn't have a shot, no matter what," she continued.

Conrad went on to discuss the challenges she and her siblings, especially her twin brother Aaron Carter (who passed away in 2022) and sister Leslie (who passed away in 2012), had as children.

"Experiencing innocence instead of being burdened by trauma, pain, and suffering is incredibly important for children, particularly at such a young age. I know why Leslie, Aaron, and now you ended up in the circumstances that you did. I share that pain we experienced during our childhood and I'm sorry you didn't have an opportunity for a better life," she wrote.

"We all need to break down barriers, reduce stigmas, and cultivate a society where seeking mental health support is met with understanding and encouragement," Conrad continued.

"This starts with our children, and creating healthy conversation within the home," she added, before making a plea for her followers to focus on children's mental health and seek support.

"The generational dysfunction stops now. Please visit @onoursleevesofficial to learn more about how you can get involved, and how to be there for your loved ones," she added. Conrad then sent her late sister a kind message to end her homage. "I love you BJ, you're free now," she further wrote.

Bobbie Jean's mother, Jane Carter, sent a statement on Saturday that TMZ used to announce her passing.

The grieving mom said she is still in shock at her daughter Bobbie Jean's unexpected passing, and it will take some time for her to come to terms with the awful fact that this is happening to me for the third time. She added that she will be making a a more comprehensive statement when she can think straight, but in the interim, she would like to be allowed to grieve in privacy," Jane told the source.

Early on, sources to the Carters that Bobbie Jean's family believe she died from cardiac arrest, but more information about the circumstances surrounding her death is yet unknown. Bella, Bobbie Jean's kid, her parents, and her siblings all survive her.
