Nick Carter is still heartbroken over the death of his sister, Bobbie Jean Carter, just a year after their brother, Aaron Carter, passed away.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the singer shared a throwback photo of himself holding the hand of his little sister as they smile to the camera as young children.

In the caption, Nick took the opportunity to pay tribute to his late sibling, writing, "It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years - most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean."

He added that he was "completely heartbroken" about the matter before he expressed his gratitude to his fans for their love and kind words.

"We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. I know she is finally at peace with God," he added.

What Happened to Bobbie Jean Carter?

The recent social media post comes a week after Bobbie Jean was confirmed dead by their sibling Angel Carter on social media. At the time, she posted "I Love you BJ, you're free now."

Jane Carter, the matriarch of the Carter family, also confirmed the tragic news through a news outlet, saying she was shocked about the incident and she will need some time to process what happened as it's already her third time losing a child, referring to Leslie Carter who passed away in 2012 and Aaron Carter who died in 2022.

Per a news outlet, the Hillsborough Country Sherriff's office revealed that first responders acted immediately and went to Bobbie Jean's home in Tampa, FL.

She was reportedly unresponsive in the bathroom, but when she was taken to the hospital, it was too late as she already died.

The outlet further noted that there were no narcotics or drug paraphernalia in the location where she died, and authorities did not suspect foul play regarding the incident.

Aaron Carter Death

Bobbie Jean's passing comes a year after Aaron Carter died. In April 2023, Fox  reported that the cause of death for the former teen superstar was accidental drowning.

The musician died in the bathtub of his home in Lancaster.

In addition to drowning, it was also determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner that another factor of his death was "effects of difluoroethane and alprazolam."
