  • SZA Talks About Writing 'Feeling Myself' for Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé, Details New Album 'A'

SZA is readying her debut album "A," but she has had plenty of other projects to keep her busy. The most impressive feat was penning Nicki Minaj's new track "Feeling Myself" featuring Beyoncé. The songstress told swaysuniverse.com that the gig just happened, but she is glad it did."Yeah, I wrote parts of that. A nice chunk of that [laughs], I'm on the credits so I think it's really interesting. It was dope meeting Beyoncé, she's tight, she's perfect, actually," she said."Literally like on God it was something I could never explain to anyone," she added. "The call just got put in and then I arrived [laughs], I have no idea. Hit-Boy produced and I wrote the lyrics so Nicki [Minaj] and Beyoncé are singing some of the things that I wrote to it. But him [Hit-Boy] and I just work really well together like we vibe together just because he's such a cool kid. He's not pretentious at all, for as accomplished as he is he's just super welcoming and drinks like chocolate milk all day, honestly the nicest kid."The singer, aka Solana Rowe, went on to outline her first album, which follows up EPs "S" and "Z."

  • Soap Star Katherine Kelly Lang's Stint on Italian 'DWTS' Not at All What She Imagined

Sometimes things that sound like a fantastic opportunity end up being pretty lousy, even if you are a celebrity. "The Bold & the Beautiful's" Katherine Kelly Lang recently found that out when she decided to join the cast of the Italian version of "Dancing with the Stars." Lang decided to take a three-month leave from the soap she has been on for more than 25 years in favor of trying something completely new and out of her element.Lang recently talked to "TV Guide's" Michael Logan about the experience and, as it turns out, she might wish that she had passed on what seemed like a great opportunity."I thought it would be fun to go over and compete on a dance program. [Laughs] Well, I was wrong! It turned out to be more of a reality show with dance involved and they really want to provoke you. They want to see your reactions. They want to see tears and anger. And they really want to see you fire back some retorts, which is so not my style. I don't like reality shows at all so, when I realized what was really going on, I was taken aback. I think maybe they thought they'd hired my character. They kept calling me 'Brooke.' I kept saying, 'My name is Kelly!' They had cameras on us during rehearsal at all times but they didn't show my injury on the air — in fact, they wanted to pretend it never happened. So when I was talking to the judges, I had to bring up my injury myself, which made it look like I was playing the pity card. [Laughs] I was, like, 'This is not happening!' said Lang of the experience.

  • Chris Rock Was Tired of Being Married, Now Faces Custody Battle

When it was first announced that Chris Rock and his wife of 19 years, Malaak Compton-Rock, had split, it sounded like things might be as amicable as these things ever can be. It is a marriage that has had issues in the past, with the couple splitting up once before about eight years ago. Compton-Rock issued a kind of weird statement that referenced her work while confirming the split, then we heard she has been keeping the couple's two daughters from Rock and, well, this is starting to sound pretty messy.Rock reportedly filed official documents in a New Jersey court to dissolve the marriage last Tuesday, Dec. 23, and according to a report by TMZ it matters to him that people know it was his decision to pull the plug on the relationship. He is also pushing for joint custody while Compton-Rock is reportedly looking for sole custody of their children.Sources close to Rock have said that he is a great and an involved father, so much so that even while promoting his current movie, "Top Five," his work schedule had to be built around taking his daughters to school and then picking them up later in the day. That hardly sounds like the kind of guy you cut out of your kids's lives, and it kind of feels like she is trying to use the kids as a way to punish Rock, doesn't it?
