Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani Believes Darren Wilson's Case Never Should Have Been Before a Grand Jury, Calls It 'Political Theater'
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani really gets heated when the topic of Ferguson comes up. In the last few weeks he has popped up on various news programs, insisting that while this case took on racial overtones early on, the problem actually starts with what is wrong within the community itself. Giuliani insisted on "Fox News Sunday" that Darren Wilson's shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown never should have made it in front of a grand jury in the first place."I don't see how this case normally would even have been brought to a grand jury. This is the kind of case — had it not had the racial overtones and the national publicity — where a prosecutor would have come to the conclusion that there is not enough evidence to present to the grand jury. [U.S.] Attorney General [Eric] Holder's gonna have to take a case in which a jury couldn't find probable cause to indict, and he's gonna have to try to find probable cause in front of a federal grand jury. It's an impossible case to present to a grand jury," said Giuliani. He also held firm to the notion that it is the community's job to get itself together and to work to bring the violence down among themselves. While it is the local police department's job to protect the peace, if people were treating each other humanely in the first place, then situations like Ferguson would rarely occur. -

Bob Dylan Gives First Audio Interview in 10 Years for Showtime Documentary About the 'Basement Tapes' [LISTEN]
A period of Bob Dylan's illustrious career has been revisited recently with two releases. Dylan put out "The Basement Tapes Complete: The Bootleg Series Vol. 11" and a supergroup comprised of Marcus Mumford, Jim James, Elvis Costello and others released "Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes." The former is centered around Dylan's 1966 sessions in Woodstock, New York, with The Band while the latter is made up of unfinished Dylan lyrics. In a recent Showtime documentary, the songwriter discussed the "Basement Tapes" in his first audio interview in 10 years, "Consequence of Sound" noted.Dylan says in the interview below that the Basement Tapes were a result of just hanging out with other musical minds."Oh ... y'know, beside this, kind of was gonna stay up in Woodstock for a while, so ... my band from the touring we had done together, those guys just came on up there, they liked it, too. And Robbie [Roberston] called me up one day and said, 'What's happenin'?' you know, 'What's happenin'?' and I said, 'Nuthin'.' He said, well he was in the mood for some nuthin' too."The songwriter gathered up 138 recordings for his new compilation, 30 of which were previously unreleased. He talked about the space that spawned those recordings, too. -
Lionel Richie Confirmed for Glastonbury Sunday Afternoon Spot; Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters Still Want to Play
Lionel Richie is the first big name secured for Glastonbury's 2015 festival. The "All Night Long (All Night)" singer will perform during the event's Sunday afternoon slot, which is historically reserved for some of the most-respected names in music. Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen and Brian Wilson have all played Glastonbury's Sunday afternoon set. Dolly Parton had the honor last year, drawing an enormous crowd, "NME" noted. No headliners have been announced, and Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters have yet to receive a call about performing at the legendary festival."I'm really excited to play Glastonbury next year, as it's one of the most iconic festivals in the world," Richie told "The Guardian." "It has a phenomenal history and the alumni of artists who have previously played is incredible, so I'm honored to be joining that club. It will be a really special moment for me and I can't wait to share it with everyone. I can now say, 'Yes, I'm playing Glastonbury.'"Organizer Emily Eavis was ecstatic to book Richie, saying there will be "a lot of love" for the artist at Glastonbury.Earlier this month, Grohl suggested that Eavis contact his band to play the festival, but that call has not come yet."She hasn't called — I have not gotten the call yet," he said. "The Foo Fighters haven't been there since 1998, so er ... and that's a fun festival."Eavis seemed open to the idea when the frontman suggested it, though. -
Thanksgiving Apart Leads to Rumors of Trouble in Kim Kardashian's Marriage to Kanye West
It does not take much for Kim Kardashian's marriage to Kanye West to start grabbing some negative headlines. No one has ever accused them of exactly being the most conventional couple in the first place, but for some reason the press goes crazy when they do not play house like everyone else does.Remember, they have a baby, have been married for six months and are still living with Kris Jenner in spite of having mountains of cash for a place of their own. Thanks to reality television, we are all used to seeing the whole Kardashian family together to celebrate the holidays because it is how they have always done it. West was missing from last week's festivities. Not only did he skip out on Thanksgiving dinner at Khloé Kardashian's, but he was actually spotted in Paris dining with two of his best friends rather than spending the holiday with his wife and daughter. Kardashian raised eyebrows by being grateful on social media for having her "whole" family with her on Thanksgiving. She chased that with a photo of little North West out and about on Black Friday and in the caption Kardashian called her daughter her "best friend." -
'Y&R' Actor Corey Sligh Beaten After Purposely Being Hit By a Car on Thanksgiving
This past Thanksgiving is likely one Corey Sligh will never forget. The actor, who has popped up on "The Young and the Restless" in various roles, stopped at a Rite Aid drug store in Los Angeles with his girlfriend Alisa Berhorst, and one comment lead to a violent altercation, according to "The Hollywood Reporter."The couple was originally making a quick stop before going to help feed those who were less privileged when a car in the parking lot was hopping curbs and doing donuts. Sligh noticed that the two men inside the vehicle were narrowly missing hitting people, and he suggested that they slow down. Instead of doing that, they purposely hit Sligh with the car and then got out and beat him!The men eventually sped off, but later crashed the car and were arrested by police. Sligh is still hospitalized at Cedars Sinai, where he will stay for at least a few more days. He reached out to fans via his Instagram, saying:"Hey kids, went to feed some people last night who don't have blessed thanksgivings and along the way got struck by a drunk driver! Have a surgery to go and another couple days in the hospital but should be fine soon! Thankful to still be on this great planet! Love y'all!" -

The Kinks Working on New Music? Ray and Dave Davies Recorded Some Demos Last Year
Who said The Kinks would never get back together? Oh, that's right, frontman Ray Davies did a few times — most recently in October. The singer appears to be warming up to the idea of a reunion, though, recently telling "Rolling Stone" that he and brother Dave Davies laid down a few tracks last year. There are also rumblings of a possible tour for 2015. Thank the 1960s rock gods!During the interview, Ray touches on a variety of topics, including his brother, Dave, who he has been feuding with for most of his life. But it sounds like the two still make music together."Look, my brother is very intelligent. He's a good writer," Ray said about Dave, who played guitar for The Kinks. "We actually put down a few demos last Christmas. He came to see me, and he played me a couple of new songs."That means a tour, right?"I don't know about next year. I'm doing a studio album of my songs from my book "Americana," and I'm going to do a small tour. As for the Kinks, I have to talk to Dave," he added. -
Darren Wilson Resigns from Ferguson Police Department, Will Receive No Severance Package
The fact that Darren Wilson has officially resigned from the Ferguson Police Department comes as no surprise to anyone. Once the grand jury decided against indicting Wilson last Monday, Nov. 24, in the shooting death of Michael Brown, it technically meant that he was free to return to active duty with the Ferguson department, but in reality that was never going to happen, and Wilson was the first to admit it.Death threats have been made against the department and Wilson was clear on the fact that if he returned to duty he was not only risking his own safety, but also that of his fellow officers. It was never a matter of if he would resign, but when and yesterday, Nov. 29, ended up being the day, according to CNN. While Wilson has been out on paid leave since the Aug. 9 shooting, officials confirmed today that his resignation does not include a severance package of any kind. As of yesterday, Wilson is off the Ferguson payroll and he also does not have health insurance to help counter the cost of his new wife's pregnancy bills.
