    Christmas music is typically the territory of Christian artists, country singers, or pop singers looking for a quick cash-in between proper studio albums (though that doesn't mean these cash-ins can't be great). However, there have been some strange cases where artists in other genres, such as rap, metal, and indie rock, have tried their hand at Christmas music as well. Here are eight Christmas songs or albums from unexpected artists.
  • Dave Grohl Shares Kurt Cobain's Reaction to Early Foo Fighters Demos for Seattle Episode of 'Sonic Highways'

    Last night (November 28) on Sonic Highways, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters visited Seattle, the motherland of grunge and home to the frontman's former band, Nirvana. A pivotal moment during the episode revolved around some demo tapes featuring songs that would later become part of 1995's Foo Fighters ("Alone + Easy Target"). Grohl recorded the debut album in Seattle following Cobain's untimely death, but not before the iconic singer had heard the demo.

    Former Creed frontman Scott Stapp has fallen on hard times. A video of the singer confessing that he's homeless and broke surfaced a few days ago. It appears to have been deleted, but the singer posted new videos explaining more about his financial woes. Stapp appears to be sober in both videos (he's battled with substance abuse in the past) and claims that his record label, from what he's heard, owes him $50 million.
  • U.S.'s Gracie Gold Wins NKH Trophy, Securing a Spot for Herself in the GP Final Beside Ashley Wagner

    Gracie Gold has spent the last few years training hard to climb to the top of the podium in ladies figure skating and this weekend, she just garnered more respect in her journey. Gold won both the short and free skating portions of the NHK Trophy in Osaka, Japan to go on and secure the title at the international event. It also secures her a spot in the Grand Prix Final, which will take place next month in Barcelona and features only the very best skaters of the season.

    Although Gene Simmons was glad to be a part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, KISS frontman Paul Stanley was a little less enthused. The singer took to Twitter to express his displeasure with the appearance, for which they played "Rock and Roll All Nite," but offered no specific reason why. It sounds like there was some sort of miscommunication between the band's camp and an executive in charge of the parade.
