  • Pharrell Williams "Happy" to top Digital Downloads chart, Katy Perry falls, Jason Derulo rises

Things are looking optimistic for America, as Pharrell Williams' track "Happy" rose to the top of the Billboard Digital Downloads chart last week (not that a song named "Sad" was ever at the top). Williams got a continued boost from radio play, Beats commercials, DVD sales of Despicable Me 2, The NBA All-Star Game...just about everything. The track jumped 31 percent in sales and moved 329,000.
  • Eric Church dominates Billboard 200 with 'The Outsiders,' but 'Frozen' and 'NOW' stay steady

It was a slow week for new albums, at least in terms of sales, as only one record debuted within the Top 10. The good news is that the one record debuted at no. 1.
  • WATCH: Katy Perry plays Egyptian queen, rocks an insane grill in 'Dark Horse' music video teaser

Katy Perry may have the No. 1, best selling song in the country with "Dark Horse," but the third Prism single has yet to receive an official music video or pending release date... until now. Today (Feb. 13), Perry revealed a 30-second teaser trailer for "Dark Horse," and it looks like she's harkening back to Cleopatra.
  • Katy Perry tops Digital Downloads chart for fifth week with 'Dark Horse,' but Pharrell Williams and 'Happy' approacheth

Last week's Digital Downloads chart was dominated by songs that received reinvigorating performances during the Grammys, but now things have shifted back to normal. Supposedly. Still, the top spot is still held by a Grammy performance track.
  • 'Frozen' falls from top albums spot; did Broken Bells, Toni Braxton/Babyface or 'Now 49' take top spot?

Happy times are here at last for those of us looking for new music. Hopefully. Last week's Billboard Top 10 featured four debut entries, the most so far for 2014.
  • Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse' Grammy performance keeps Jason DeRulo and Pharrell Williams at bay on Digital Downloads chart

This week's Digital Downloads chart, between the Grammy performances of a week ago and the Super Bowl commercials that aired the night before the numbers finalized, saw a significant increase in sales.
  • 'Frozen' soundtrack holds off Grammy performers Lorde, Beyoncé, Imagine Dragons on Billboard 200

Although the Grammys concluded more than a week ago, the final effects of the ceremony on album sales are best seen in this week's Billboard 200. Indeed, seven of the albums in the Top 10 this week were involved in the program, with a few owing their spots this week to their Grammy performances.
  • Katy Perry's No. 1 hit 'Dark Horse' finally receives lyric video [WATCH]

Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" is already the No. 1 song in the country, and that happened organically, without massive amounts of promotion from the pop star. Now, however, Perry and her camp are kicking it into high gear. Today (Feb. 3), the official lyric video for the trap-infused, Juicy J featuring track debuted, and it's all the spectacle one would expect from this "dark horse of a song."
  • Katy Perry rides 'Dark Horse' to third straight week atop Digital Downloads chart, Jason DeRulo's 'Talk Dirty' a distant second

Just last week were commenting on how songs have a tendency to hold the top spot of the Billboard Digital Downloads chart for two weeks, but almost as soon as we said it, a song held on for a third week at no. 1.
  • 'Frozen' soundtrack returns to top spot as A Great Big World and Young The Giant debut

A few more "new" albums managed to crack the top 10 of the Billboard 200 this week, but sales slipped from last week overall.
  • Katy Perry auctions meet & greet plus Prismatic tour tickets on Charitybuzz for Pablove Foundation

Katy Perry is teaming up with Charitybuzz to meet a lucky fan again, along with giving away tickets to her Prismatic World Tour. This year's charity is The Pablove Foundation, which not only works on pediatric cancer research, but also enhances the lives of children living with cancer via music and the arts.
  • Katy Perry, Pitbull party hard on new 'Dark Horse' remix [LISTEN]

Katy Perry and Pitbull are two of the biggest names in popular music, so doesn't it seem inevitable that the two would eventually collaborate? Well, it's finally happened. Today (Jan. 27), a new remix of Perry's quickly rising single "Dark Horse" has hit the web, featuring none other than Mr. Worldwide himself.
