  • Katy Perry shows off regal 'Dark Horse' single artwork [PHOTO]

Katy Perry is totally ready to gallop in on her "Dark Horse." After the song found a surprising wide audience with little to no promotion, Perry's label Capitol decided to make the trap-infused, Juicy J featuring track the album's third official single. Now, as the official launch of "Dark Horse" is on the horizon, Perry has revealed the regal single artwork.
  • Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears take home trophies at People's Choice Awards Music [FULL WINNERS LIST]

The 40th Annual People's Choice Awards took place Wednesday night (Jan. 8) in all its awkward, 2 Broke Girls hosted glory. Among a slew of TV show winners and Adam Sandler somehow winning Favorite Comedic Movie Actor, there were live musical performances and two whole awards dished out to pop's biggest acts.
  • Pitbull, Ke$ha and 'Timber' rule Digital Downloads again, A Great Big World and OneRepublic follow

Last week's Digital Downloads Top 10 (Top 50 for that matter) all saw an increase in sales thanks to the giving of iTunes gift cards, etc. during the holidays. That resulted in this week's inevitable drop off for all of the songs in the Top 10, which all saw a decrease in sales from last week. That doesn't mean sales were bad however: Five songs still broke 200,000 in total downloads, up from the typical two or three.
  • Frozen tops Billboard 200, dethrones Beyoncé and holds off Eminem

Temperatures have been cold across the country, and so have album sales. Due to the end of the year and the low number of new releases that comes with it, the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 features a slew of familiar faces, but at least the door opened up for a few hits from throughout 2013 to make a reappearance.
  • Stevie Nicks tells Katy Perry, 'You don't have rivals'

During a lengthy conversation back in September, Stevie Nicks sat down with Katy Perry to offer her some words of advice. Specifically, "You don't have any rivals." According to Rolling Stone, in an interview with ABC Radio, Nicks talked about meeting Perry in London.
  • Lorde, Katy Perry, Robin Thicke and Metallica join the Grammy performers list

Lorde, Katy Perry, Robin Thicke and Metallica have been added to the performers list for the 56th annual Grammy Awards. This marks Lorde's Grammy Awards debut, and she is up for four awards including record of the year and song of the year for her No. 1 hit "Royals." She will be competing against Perry's hit "Roar" in the song of the year category, according to Billboard.
  • Robin Thicke, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Imagine Dragons singles dominate a year dominated by 2012

Yesterday we reported the final weekly Top 10 Digital Downloads list of 2013, but now we have a special end-of-year treat: The Top 10 most downloaded songs for the entire year, as found by our pals at Billboard and Nielsen Soundscan.
  • Pitbull, Ke$ha, Eminem and Rihanna end year atop Billboard Digital Downloads chart

Music Times warned you that the final Digital Downloads' chart of the year would be chalk full of sales thanks to people cashing in on the iTunes/download cards they received for Christmas. And sure enough, it was a huge week. Every song in the Top 50 saw a sales increase, and 46 of those tracks saw rises of more than 100 percent (aka doubling in sales since last week).
  • Beyonce top charts third straight week, One Direction goes platinum, 'Frozen' soundtrack sets mark

Last week was the last for musicians to make a statement on the charts for 2013, and at least four albums left a mark during the closing moments of the year. Let's start with the notable accomplishers.
  • A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera top Digital Downloads charts for second week

The end of the year didn't bring any new albums to the Billboard 200 Top 10 this week, and the Top 10 of the Digital Downloads charts didn't bring too many fresh faces either.
  • Beyoncé, Garth Brooks, One Direction top Billboard 200 amidst no significant releases

The year is coming to a close, and that means you shouldn't expect too many new releases coming down the pipe. This week's Top 10 of the Billboard 200 didn't have any new entries, so expect to see some familiar names.
  • Beyoncé zeitgeist leads to top of Billboard 200; Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, R. Kelly place

Beyoncé's new album was totally unannounced, plus it came out on Thursday versus the traditional Tuesday release, plus it was only available on iTunes, so there's no way that it could have made a big Billboard 200 impact, right? HA.
