The BRIT Awards took place last night at London’s O2 Arena. Similar to The Grammys, the ceremony included performances from a variety of artists from the UK as well as international acts. Pharrell Williams "Happy" to top Digital Downloads chart, Katy Perry falls, Jason Derulo rises
Things are looking optimistic for America, as Pharrell Williams' track "Happy" rose to the top of the Billboard Digital Downloads chart last week (not that a song named "Sad" was ever at the top). Williams got a continued boost from radio play, Beats commercials, DVD sales of Despicable Me 2, The NBA All-Star Game...just about everything. The track jumped 31 percent in sales and moved 329,000. -
Eric Church dominates Billboard 200 with 'The Outsiders,' but 'Frozen' and 'NOW' stay steady
It was a slow week for new albums, at least in terms of sales, as only one record debuted within the Top 10. The good news is that the one record debuted at no. 1. -

Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" is already the No. 1 song in the country, and that happened organically, without massive amounts of promotion from the pop star. Today (Feb. 3), the official lyric video for the trap-infused, Juicy J featuring track debuted, and it's all the spectacle one would expect from this "dark horse of a song." -
