  • Katy Perry and 'Prism' one of only albums to sell last week; Pearl Jam, Drake and Miley Cyrus hang around on Top 10

    The bad news for the music industry: This week was a weak one for album sales, totaling around 4.54 million total records sold, the lowest weekly total since Nielsen began compiling the stats in 1991. Considering that Lady Gaga sold more than a million by herself when 'Born This Way' debuted in 2011, we're sure the music biz can't wait for 'ARTPOP' to drop next week. For now, here's the results from last week's sales.

    To celebrate her 29th birthday, Katy Perry decided to go for a "younger" look and dress as a high school cheerleader. She performed a five-song set for the 2,700 students and staff of Lakewood High School. The performance aired live on Good Morning America earlier today, according to MTV News.

    Katy Perry has only announced one full concert for this fall, and it's going to be a big one. "We Can Survive," the name of the show, will pull double duty: More importantly, all of the proceeds raised will benefit the Young Survival Commission, which helps young women suffering from breast cancer. As a side note, the show will also go down the day after Perry's "Prism" debuts, and the pop star will have plenty of girl power in support.
