    This week during 1990 marked a new high for female musicians everywhere, as all five of the top songs on the Hot 100 were performed by women. That sounds impressive but female performers have been getting their due even more so in recent years: During 2014, the Top 5 of the Hot 100 was held down by women for seven consecutive weeks. That sort of hype helped it grab the record for most views in a 24-hour period on VEVO, taking the prize from Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda."     Nicki Minaj has been getting close with the Carter-Knowles family as of late. After releasing her video with Beyoncé for "Feeling Myself," Minaj has seemingly confirmed a collaboration with Bey's husband Jay Z. On Thursday she tweeted (via Complex), then quickly deleted, a message of confirmation to a fan, who asked, "What about the Jay Z collab??" The Pinkprint rapper responded, "It's coming in three days."

People have scratched their heads over the censorship that occurred during Kanye's set and perhaps more under the radar, but newly reported by Vice's Thump, is a potential theft of intellectual property by David Guetta and Nicki Minaj. The pair performed their hit single, "Hey Mama," and some of the background installations look almost identical to those of a Burning Man art installation known as the HYBYCOZO series.

    David Guetta has released the music video for his collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Afrojack "Hey Mama." The track with little promotion has become one of the biggest songs in the world at the moment, flying up the charts and getting tons of radio play. The music video channels one of the biggest movies in the United States right now Mad Max with its cinematography and costume design. It could also be a weird camp at Burning Man. Guetta noted the similarities in an interview with Billboard, saying "I'm a big Mad Max fan so this video is perfect for me."

    Kanye West closed the Billboard Music Awards this weekend with a medley of hits but audiences at home didn't get to hear much at all due to the ceremonies overexcited censors. Or at least the rapper commented Tuesday that his set, which included "All Day" and "Black Skinhead," was handled with undue caution.
