Flavor Flav has thrust himself back into the headlines, but for all of the wrong reasons. According to TMZ, the former Public Enemy hype man was pulled over for speeding in Las Vegas going 73 in 45 zone. Once he was stopped, Police arrested Flav for a number of violations including DUI and drug possession.

They booked him on a laundry list of charges including possession of marijuana, open container, speeding, driving with a suspended license and having a false registration. The incident occurred early this morning (May 21) in Las Vegas.

According to Nevada Highway patrol, Flav was spotted speeding driving a black 2005 BMW, which he clearly shouldn't have been driving for a multitude of reasons.

There are no details on his bond or trial date, but stay tuned for any further developments. It is unclear what type of punishment Flav may receive, but with the amount of strikes he has and the potential stacking of charges, it could end up being serious.

This is not the first time the rapper turned reality TV star has been arrested or cited. The vast majority of his mishaps have occurred behind the wheel, including one last year where he was cited for driving with a suspended license after his mother's funeral.

Flavor Flav became popular as the hype man for rap group Public Enemy, adding something unique to Chuck D's vocals and Bomb Squad's production. His signature clock chain became attached to his persona. He was the star in a series of reality shows during the 2000s, including Flavor of Love, which was a bachelor-styled competition for women to compete for his heart. He also starred in VH1's Strange Love with actress Brigitte Nielsen.
