Word on the block is Aerosmith might be coming together for a massive comeback in 2023, as hinted by Joe Perry earlier this year, but is Steven Tyler up ready to trade in their Vegas residency for a world tour?

According to a report, a source revealed that the rock band is currently busy in the recording studios, preparing for their comeback which will consist of a new album and a world tour.

"It's still in the early stages," the source said. "They got security on the doors to ensure no one hears a whisper."

This comes after months of speculation regarding the band's next new album. In an interview, the Aerosmith guitarist neither confirmed nor denied that the band will be making new material or even a tour.

When asked about what fans can expect in their comeback, he replied, "There are certainly around eight songs we have to play."

While it seems like Perry is optimistic about a comeback, Brad Whitford doesn't see it this way.

In an interview earlier this year, Whitford talked about how life and health can get in the way of the band's possible comeback. "I'm not sure how to answer that. I don't know how it will play out. It's been almost two years since we played last, (a residency) in Las Vegas, and we had a very difficult time then.

He also noted that their age might prove to be a hindrance to life on the road, "All of us are getting older, and health issues make things difficult."

Health Concerns

The report says that Aerosmith is not only preparing for an album but the accompanying tour as well.

This might prove to be a little bit more difficult given that recent reports noted the declining health of Aerosmith's frontman.

According to Billboard, the rock band had to cancel their second Las Vegas Residency gig after Tyler was advised by his doctor to keep resting.

"Unfortunately tomorrow's show, Monday December 5th, in Las Vegas has to be cancelled," a statement read.

"Steven Tyler said, 'On the advice of my doctor, I'm taking more time to rest... There is nowhere we'd rather be than on stage surrounded by the greatest fans in the world. We sincerely apologize."

Furthermore, this is the second show they have canceled due to the 74-year-old's illness.

Many wonder if Tyler is really up for a world tour when he can barely manage to live through their Las Vegas residency, however, nothing is set in stone as of this writing.
