Rumors of the Madonna biopic being back in production were sparked after the "Material Girl" singer and Julia Garner were seen together in New York City.
The sighting has raised speculation that the project could still be underway despite earlier reports indicating otherwise.
Earlier in the year, the Queen of Pop was ready to take part in co-writing and directing a project at Universal. However, this undertaking was put on hold while she prepared for her upcoming world tour starting in July.
Nevertheless, those plans are still firmly in place.
On Sunday night, Garner and the newly coiffed orange-haired pop star were observed enjoying a meal with their entourage, which has stirred speculation that all is not finished between them.
At around 10 PM, guests in the entire 360 room of the restaurant caught sight of the two dining in what can only be described as a simulated voyage across the cityscape.
At the Vanity Fair Oscars party in March, the "Ozark" gave a brief update on the status of her dinner date with Madonna in New York City, per the NY Post.
This has sparked speculation that the two are collaborating again to develop a biopic project. Sources claim Madonna wanted to craft a "grittier" script for this piece, and Garner may have confirmed it at the event.
"I don't want to tell too much. I want to keep things... yeah, fingers crossed."
Madonna had a burning passion for ensuring that her biography was portrayed accurately on the big screen. She was determined to give an honest account of her life and make sure it was told with as much accuracy as possible.
"This project means the world to Madonna," an insider said of the 64-year-old, adding that she expects a lot from Julia Garner, per Radar Online.
"Her opinion is that if it's to be a success, then Julia needs to slip into her mindset and live and breathe everything she does. It's the ultimate Method acting challenge."

Madonna is ready to take her show on the road and has decided to make her "Celebration" tour a true family affair!
The source further revealed that Lourdes, David, Mercy, Stella, and Estere would perform with their mother, while Rocco would lend his creative eye to designing the occasion.
