  • Ice Hockey Announce 'Wavefunction Collapse' LP, Tour Dates [SCHEDULE]

Iowa rockers Ice Hockey are beginning 2015 in style: They just signed to Texas Is Funny in time to release a new record, "Wavefunction Collapse," and hit the road for a bunch of shows. That is great news because the last year has been tough."This was written in a very tumultuous time for the band," the group told "Brooklyn Vegan" about new song "Solar Myths and Autumn." "A few of the members left and it was just guitar and drums for a month or so. The majority of the material was written then. We had just gotten back from a short tour where we played with bands like The Reptilian and Alta and we were looking to gain a little more subtlety and maturity in our songs."The new track is available over at BV, and you can check out the dates below, via "Brooklyn Vegan":
  • AC/DC Soundtracks Beats Electronics Commercials Featuring NFL Stars Richard Sherman and Von Miller [WATCH]

AC/DC mania has hit the masses. The band released its 15th studio album "Rock or Bust" in December and took the rock landscape by storm. "Play Ball," the album's first single, appeared in a commercial for Major League Baseball's playoffs in October, and now the same song is being used in some advertisements for Beats Electronics. This time the sport is American football, with Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman and Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller blaring the tune before a game.In both commercials, the players are driving to a stadium while listening to a broadcaster — Jim Rome — more or less talking trash. They use their slick, new headphones — Powerbeats2 Wireless and Studio Wireless — to drown out all the chatter. AC/DC's "Play Ball" fits perfectly since both players are getting ready to do just that — this could be a big one for March Madness. Check out the ads below via Blabbermouth.Historically, the Australian rockers do not license their music for commercials and ads. "Back in Black" was used in a Walmart ad in 2011 a few years after the group sold their last album, "Black Ice," exclusively through the retailer. The 1980 anthem has recently popped up in a commercial for Chevrolet's new Colorado.
  • US Military's Twitter, YouTube Accounts Hacked by ISIS

The United States is united with France in the notion that we will not walk in fear, but that does not mean the Muslim extremist groups are not going to do their best to generate that kind of reaction. On Monday afternoon, Jan. 12, individuals claiming to be part of the Islamic State — or ISIS — claimed responsibility immediately for hacking into the U.S. military's Central Command Twitter and YouTube accounts."ISIS is already here, we are in your PCs, in each military base," read a message posted to CENTCOM's account by the hackers. "With Allah's permission we are in CENTCOM now."Other tweets sent out from CENTCOM's account included contact information for some of the U.S.'s most high-ranking officials. That would seem to indicate that this group has indeed infiltrated far more than just a few social media accounts.
  • Nick Jonas Chooses Between Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato in Awkward New Interview

Things got a little awkward today (Jan. 12) over at Capital FM in the U.K. Former Disney star and current heartthrob Nick Jonas was in the studio to promote his self-titled solo album and hit single "Jealous" and then things got weird when the radio host threw some ex-girlfriends in the mix. In a play on a classic sleepover game, Jonas was asked to choose between Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato in a game of "Wife, Lips, Leave."
  • A New 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Trailer Has Been Released After Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson Had Zero Chemistry at Golden Globes

In about a month, "Fifty Shades of Grey" is finally going to premiere in theaters nationwide and then, after years of speculation, we will finally all know whether or not this movie actually works. There has been so much chatter about every aspect of it — from the casting to whether or not it can possibly live up to the book with an R rating — that the bar has been set extremely high. Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele will really have their work cut out for them. Both actors were on hand to present an award at the Golden Globes last night, Jan. 11. It was a chance to put Dornan and Johnson together in the same place at the same time, to build up a bit of anticipation for the film. If there time together onstage was any indication of how they relate to one another, "Fifty Shades of Grey" might be the most awkward thing to hit theaters this year. Of course, nerves may have been a factor in their presentation, but after hearing that chemistry had been an issue during filming, well, last night it kind of felt like that might be true, and without chemistry this film is going nowhere.
