• Reese Witherspoon Has Never Identified with Being Anyone's 'Sweetheart'

    January is definitely Reese Witherspoon's month for covering magazines. Chalk it up to the fact that her career is booming with new films such as "Wild" dropping and Oscar buzz surrounding "Gone Girl," a film she produced. It is no wonder that Witherspoon is gracing the U.K. edition of "Harper's Bazaar" in a 1950s-inspired photo shoot. She also gets real in the January 2015 issue of "Glamour," where she takes on that whole notion of being "America's sweetheart.""I certainly didn't self-identify as anyone's sweetheart. I'm friendly, but I don't think I'm sweet. I'm honest. I don't think I realized [in my 20s] that no one else makes you whole. You have to take responsibility for your own happiness. That took me until I was about 31 to know. It wasn't easy to realize, 'Oh, wait, I am purely responsible [for my life]' — no relationship, no children, no nothing is going to make you a happy person. Every day you have to choose to find and cultivate your own happiness," says Witherspoon.

Formerly known as "Fruity Loops," FL Studio has been the preferred DAW for PC users for years, while Mac users have produced with the software Logic. Though Macs have the capability to go into "Boot camp" mode and allocate some hard drive space to PC software, speed is at a premium when producing a track with potentially more than a hundred channels. Now the news that FL Studio is being released for Macs will have producers ecstatic that they have a choice of music software.In a statement released on "Attack Magazine," the company behind FL Studio, Image-Line, explained the reason behind the adaptation for FL Studio 12 and why it took so long to make the change. A Mac OS X compiler for Delphi, the language the programming code FL Studio is written in, only recently appeared.

  • St. Louis Rams Insist That They Did Not Apologize to Police for 'Hands Up, Don't Shoot' Gesture

    It looks like finding middle ground and a truce between the St. Louis Rams and the St. Louis County police department is not going to be easy. The issue began when five St. Louis Rams players walked onto the field before Sunday, Nov. 30's game with their arms making a "hands up, don't shoot" gesture. The police department took extreme offense at the gesture, which was in reference to Darren Wilson's not being indicted in the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Now team officials and the police department are at odds over whether or not an apology was issued.On Monday, Dec. 1, the Rams's chief operations officer Kevin Demoff reached out to law enforcement to try and make peace. Demoff reportedly told police chief Jon Belmar that he "regretted any offense the officers may have taken and regretted that any members of the [Rams's] organization would act in a way that minimized the outstanding work that police officers and departments carry out each and every day."Even though Demoff said he never apologized, the chief believed it to be enough of an apology to send an email about the phone call to his staff.

Ray claimed he was the one who originated the sound."My brother Dave and I played records so loud it made the speakers distort, and we thought it'd be a nice idea to make the guitar sound that distorted, and we cranked up the amplifier and I stuck a knitting needle in it," Ray told NPR.This story upset Dave, who recently took to his Facebook page in an attempt to set the record straight."My brother is lying," he wrote. "I don't know why he does this but it was my Elpico amp that I bought and out of frustration I cut the speaker cone up with a razor blade and I was so shocked and surprised and excited that it worked that I demonstrated the sound to Ray and Pete.""Pete" refers to late bassist Pete Quaife, who died in 2010."Pete didn't even like it and laughed and said it sounded like a dog barking," Dave said. "Ray liked the sound and he had written a riff on the piano which formed the basis of the song 'You Really Got Me' and I played the riff on my guitar with MY new sound. I ALONE CREATED THIS SOUND."

  • 23-Year-Old Woman Dies Aboard United Airlines Flight 115 from London to Newark Airport

    Travelers on a United Airlines flight from London's Heathrow Airport were faced with an in-flight medical crisis last night, Dec. 1, while en-route to Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey. Apparently, a 23-year-old woman became unconscious on Flight 115 and attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful. A doctor on board was unable to save the woman, who was traveling alone.The woman, who was pronounced dead at around 8:30 p.m., has yet to be identified. Police and a medical examiner greeted the plane, which landed at 9:45 p.m. and, while no official cause of death has been given, Port Authority officials claim that she appears to have died of natural causes. According to the "Daily Mail," the woman had pre-existing medical problems, but as of now no one is confirming what they may be.

The singer got into a heated exchange on social media, standing by Cosby as a friend and advocate for proof of the allegations.When one follower, also a Temple alum, asked Scott to sign a petition for the university to cut ties with the comedy star, the singer responded in the negative, philly.com noted. Cosby resigned from the university's board of trustees yesterday, Dec. 1.

The Boss strolled out on stage during The Edge's shimmering guitar intro to "Where the Streets Have No Name" and looked supremely confident. Springsteen brought a little of that hardened, New-Jersey grit to the Joshua Tree hit.The band opted for another classic from the 1987 album with "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," which Springsteen dedicated to Bono.
