James Blake has been slotted to take over one of the segments in BBC Radio 1's Residency series in January 2014. The series will feature one selected DJ to play a two-hour set each Thursday, and Blake (recent winner of the Mercury Prize) will be the artist taking the Jan. 23 spot right after a set from T Williams. -

Well, rock band Avenged Sevenfold won't star in their own cartoon, but its album Hail To The King will be adapted into one. Hail To The King (the TV series) will consist of six episodes uploaded to Machinima.com-an animation and video game-based website-on December 15. -

George Strait sells out Dallas Cowboys stadium in less than a day for final show
George Strait managed to sell out his final concert in less than one day. "Big deal," say you, "tons of bands sell out venues in just one day of sales." The difference, of course, is that Strait sold out AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, which has seating capacity for more than 100,000. So it's about on par with selling out the 2014 Super Bowl in one day. Which happened, but the Super Bowl is about the paramount of American events, so Strait's final show could be considered a big deal. -

On December 15, BBC Four will be honoring the late Lou Reed in documentary called Lou Reed Remembered. As NME reports, the show will air at 9 p.m. and will include contributions from Reed's former Velvet Underground bandmates Mo Tucker and Doug Yule, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, Boy George and Debbie Harry. -
