Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons were on hand to receive the ASCAP Founders Award, Billboard notes - an honor given by the organization to artists "who have made pioneering contributions to music by inspiring and influencing their fellow music creators." The Foo Fighters frontman made it clear that KISS had a lasting effect on his career.

    Ryan Adams went on a streak last year of performing gnarly cover tunes. Danzig's "Mother" and Alice in Chains' "Nutshell" made the cut in 2014 along with "Run to You" by often-mistaked-counterpart Bryan Adams. Earlier this week during a show at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Adams returned to the Canadian rocker's songbook to treat fans to his massive hit "Summer of '69" more than decade after an audience member requested the tune.

    The heartbreak continues for One Direction fans. Zayn Malik recently edited his Twitter profile, going from "@ZaynMalik1D" to simply "@ZaynMalik." He also took down a link to the group's website. Fans took to the social media site to share their disbelief, even though the performer left the group back in March.

    Ringo Starr was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, making him the final Beatle to receive the honor as a solo artist. Rolling Stone caught up with John Lennon's wife Yoko Ono before the event, and she kept the compliments coming.

  • Jamie Foxx Announces New Album 'Hollywood,' Shares Cover on Instagram

    Jamie Foxx recently announced the follow-up album to his 2010 release Best Night of My Life. Hollywood will be the actor/singer's fifth studio effort. The lead single, "You Changed Me," features Chris Brown, but no other guest spots have been made public. The performer took to Instagram to share the new album cover to celebrate the announcement.
  • 'American Idol's Joey Cook on Quentin Alexander: 'What He Did was Beautiful'

    Quentin Alexander was upset to see Rayvon Owen and Joey Cook in the bottom two of American Idol's competition this week. He voiced his concerns, calling the situation "wack," before Harry Connick Jr. responded to the whole mess. Alexander apologized, but Cook thought the whole gesture was a heroic deed.

  • Of Monsters and Men Talk 'Personal' Second Album 'Beneath the Skin'

    Of Monsters and Men recently announced the follow-up to its 2011 debut My Head is an Animal. Beneath the Skin, due out June 9, already sounds promising with lead single "Crystals" already making the rounds on radio and the Internet. Ragnar "Raggi" Þórhallsson recently spoke to Billboard about the new release, which she promises will be more personal than the first.
  • Incubus, Deftones, Death From Above 1979 to Tour

    Incubus and the Deftones will join forces for a summer tour that kicks off July 22 in Clarkston, Michigan, and wraps Aug. 30 in San Diego. Death from Above 1979 will tag along for all but one of the dates in addition to support band The Bots. Major stops include the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta and Red Rocks in Morrison.
  • Converse Music Fest: The Replacements, Slayer, Chance the Rapper Headline

    Slayer, The Replacements and Passion Pit will all headline one day of the Converse Rubber Tracks Live music festival in Boston. Chance the Rapper and Decendents will also be on hand along with some openers for each day of the event, which will run from April 27 to May 1. Tickets for the five-night festival go on sale April 20.
