'Jem and the Holograms' Pulled From Theaters After Record-Breaking Box Office Lows
The "Jem and the Holograms" reboot has been pulled from U.S. theaters just two weeks after its release. The movie, based on the 1980s animated series of the same name, pulled in a record-breaking box office low of $1.37 million its opening weekend and barely reached the $2.1 million mark in its two weeks on screens. -
Aziz Ansari's Netflix Show 'Master of None' Shares Season 1 Playlist [LISTEN]
Aziz Anzari's new show, Master of None, debuted last Friday via Netflix to a flood of rave reviews from fans all over Twitter. As one might guess considering the show shares a title with a Beach House song, the show's soundtrack which is curated by the show's music supervisor Zach Cowie alongside Anzari makes for an awesome playlist. In response to fan demands, the show shared a Spotify playlist of the first season's soundtrack featuring everything from Aphex Twin to The Zombies, including the titular track by Beach House. Time Warp Techno Festival Faces Opposition From Brooklyn Community
The second US edition of Time Warp, Germany's longest-running techno festival, is scheduled to bring some of the world's best techno, deep house, and minimal producers and DJs to the Bedford Armory in Crown Heights, Brooklyn in two weeks. However, the festival is facing some serious opposition from the community: local residents and elected representatives including Assemblymember Walter Mosley have been voicing concerns regarding various quality of life issues and lobbying City Hall to shut the event down. As Mosley stated to local news outlet DNAinfo, his constituents are mostly worried about parking and "potentially intoxicated" ravers meandering the neighborhood after the event. -
SXSW Hit-and-Run Drunk Driver Who Killed 4 Sentenced to Life
Rashad Charjuan Owens, the hit-and-run driver who killed four people when he plowed through a crowd of people at 2014's South by Southwest festival in Austin, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole. A Travis County jury convicted the 23 year old of capital murder after relatively brief deliberations. -
Riff Raff Just Leaked New ‘Trench Coat Towers’ EP, Poetry Book Coming Soon
Riff Raff has just leaked his new mini-EP entitled 'Trench Coat Towers,' which is set to officially drop next week on iTunes. His new poetry book, "NEON ViBES," is also due out next week. After teasing new music all over his social media accounts all week, the rapper finally shared the four-track EP (it's actually eight tracks if you count the instrumental versions) via his Jody Highroller alter-ego's Spotify. -
Mysteryland USA Will Return to Woodstock ‘69 Grounds in 2016 on a New Date
Mysteryland, the world's longest-running electronic music, culture and arts festival, has announced that it will return for its third annual U.S. edition on the grounds of the original 1969 Woodstock festival. While the event is returning to the Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center, it's not coming without some major changes in 2016. For starters, festival organizers have chosen a new date. The tens of thousands of attendees will descend upon New York's Catskills the weekend of June 10-13, rather than raving in the woods on Memorial Day Weekend like in years past. -

David Hasselhoff is starring in an off-off Broadway musical entitled Last Night a DJ Saved My Life. In it, the star of Baywatch, The Knight Rider, and countless hilarious drunken YouTube videos plays a dad named Ross who happens to be Ibiza's top 80s DJ, apparently at some point in the 90s. The play is from the creator of 1997's jukebox musical Boogie Nights and is touring the UK through February 2016. -
