Ed Sheeran Most Streamed Spotify Performer Worldwide in 2014; Eminem Tops U.S. Stream Numbers
Yesterday Ed Sheeran made news when his album X cracked one million sales in the UK and today, partially thanks to his popularity in Europe, the pop star was named the most streamed performer of the year by Spotify. Sheeran amassed more than 860 million listens across all of the streaming service's markets. If Spotify's reports on pay rates are accurate, that means the performer should have brought in nearly $7.25 million in revenues from Spotify this year (before labels take their cut). Soul Train Awards 2014: Lil' Kim, Missy Elliot and Da Brat Perform 'Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix)' [WATCH]
Lil' Kim, Missy Elliott and Da Brat reunited at the Soul Train Awards last month for a performance of their 1997 collaboration "Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix)." The show aired last night, Nov. 30, and the crowd was loving every minute of it. Eric Benet sang the intro while Total, MC Lyte, The Lady of Rage and Yo-Yo all joined in on the fun. The performance even included the Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes verse via a screen playing the music video.The audience erupted when Lil' Kim strutted onstage in the video below. She kicked off the wild song, eventually getting into her Shmoney Dance, "MTV News" noted. Madonna 'Rebel Heart' & 'Wash Over Me' Leak Online
Madonna's upcoming album appears to have spring a leak. Two songs with apparent titles "Rebel Heart" and "Wash All Over Me" have leaked in full online. Madonna has been using the hashtag #RebelHeart quite often on her social media to get fans excited for what was rumored to be an upcoming single. According to Billboard, "Rebel Heart" is a production alongside Swedish superstar Avicii, while "Wash All Over Me" has the hallmarks of an Avicii production. "Wash All Over Me" sounds like a follow up to their first 2012 collaboration "Girl Gone Wild," which caused a stir when it was premiered by both artists like at Ultra Music Festival.
