• Mark Ronson, OMI, Hozier, Adele Tops U.K. 2015 Year-End Chart

    The U.K. official charts have unveiled the top songs of 2015 and there are few surprises at the top. The No. 1 song of the year was the dominant and irresistible, "Uptown Funk" from Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, while the rest of the top ten had tracks from the likes of OMI, courtesy of Felix Jaehn, Wiz Khalifa, Hozier, Adele, Justin Bieber and more.

It went through a bit of a rebrand to Big Music, this year, but the concept has remained the same - big emerging acts on a big stage in New York City. 2015 tabbed hot acts like James Bay, Elle King, Miguel, X Ambassadors, Hozier, Tori Kelly and others to perform live, sometimes together.

    Later this month, the MTV EMAs will hand out its awards for the acts who have had the most success in Europe. The award show is being hosted by Ed Sheeran and Ruby Rose and to keep viewers engaged it will have performers by some of the top names in music today. Already on the bill are Jason Derulo, Twenty One Pilots and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and now MTV has helped to fill out the lineup with fast rising acts in Tori Kelly, James Bay and Jess Glynne. All three are nominated in the Best New Act cetegory alongside Shawn Mendes and Echosmith.

    Sunday night during James Bay's gig at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in Cambridge, England, the audience saw a surprise guest grace the stage for an unexpected collaboration. He was joined by everyone's favorite ginger-haired singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran, for a duet of Bay's "Let It Go."

    To be named on the BBC Sound of lists is a pretty big deal. Last year's winner was Sam Smith and past winners have included HAIM in 2013, Jessie J in 2011, Ellie Goulding in 2010, Adele in 2008, Keane in 2004 and 50 Cent in 2003. If you land on this list, your future is probably headed in the right direction, and if you win, your career is most likely going to take off quickly. BBC has now announced the longlist for those artists who are set to make waves in 2015, via MTV. The artists on the BBC Sound of 2015 are James Bay, George the Poet, Kwabs, Lapsley, Rae Morris, Novelist, Raury, Shamir, Shura, Slaves, Soak, Stormzy, Sunset Sons, Wolf Alice and Years & Years. The list spans a whole host of different sounds and styles from pop to grunge to grime. There is talent across the board, but several bands and groups on this list stand out.
