5 Songs of Rum & Coke, from The Andrews Sisters to R. Kelly, but Not Really Gloria Estefan

Buzz 14:40PM EDT

Pitbull and Kesha topped the Billboard Hot 100 during 2013 with "Timber," a single dedicated to drinking and carrying on accordingly. They were obviously not the first act to top the charts with a song about alcohol. In fact, 70 years ago on this day was when the Andrews Sisters dropped "Rum and Coca-Cola," the group's sixth no. 1 hit. Pitbull may not have specifically mentioned rum during "Timber" but you know that as a proud Cuban, he's got to appreciate the sentiments of the Andrews clan. Here are five songs that make the combination of rum and cola a hit.READ MORE

R. Kelly Shares New Song 'Happy Birthday' for 48th Birthday [LISTEN]

Buzz 13:45PM EDT

Today, Jan. 8, happens to be R. Kelly's 48th birthday, so in celebration the R&B legend has shared a new song, appropriately titled "Happy Birthday," which you can check out below. The track premiered on DJ MoonDawg's radio show in Kelly's native Chicago — which explains all of the annoying sounds in the beginning — and features Kelly doing some heavily Auto-Tuned singing about watching two girls make out — on his birthday, presumably — all over a pretty basic backing track. It is definitely not one of his best, but it is so ridiculous you should probably take a listen anyway. You can check out R. Kelly's "Happy Birthday" here:READ MORE

Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign Share Trippy New Song 'Refresh/Say No More' [LISTEN]

Buzz 21:01PM EDT

Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign have shared a trippy new collaborative track titled "Refresh/Say No More," which you can check out below. Being almost nine minutes long, this is really two tracks in one, and if the cover art is any indication (which you can check out up above), this is some really spacy, psychedelic stuff, even moreso than Wiz usually gets. It's not clear who the producer is on this track, though the Soundcloud page says it was "engineered" by Drew Drucker and Ricky P, so maybe they should be getting the credit for this one.READ MORE

According to a recent interview, the album will drop in spring 2015 with features from R. Kelly and more. According to "Rap-Up," "Free TC" is slated for a March or April release. Appropriately named after his brother who is locked up, Ty says his long-awaited debut represents more than just an album. "It's for a purpose," he said. "He's locked up for something that he didn't do. It's many people out here that get injustice, as you've seen Mike Brown, Trayvon Martin, everything that's happening on the news right now. It has a purpose. It's gonna be the biggest album of 2015." The "Paranoid" crooner is pulling out all the stops for his debut with guest spots by Jagged Edge, YG, Wiz Khalifa and R. Kelly, who appears on a record called "Actress."READ MORE

R. Kelly Shares New Track "Back Up" Featuring Shawnna [LISTEN]

Buzz 21:36PM EDT

R&B legend R. Kelly has shared a cool new track titled "Back Up," featuring a guest verse from fellow Chicago native Shawnna, which you can check out here. Other than the chorus hook, the song sees Kelly taking a break from singing to try his hand at rapping, and he's not bad, but the real draw of this track is the weird production, which lays a sinister, moaning beat underneath the verses.READ MORE

Rick Ross Shares Music Video for 'Hood Billionaire' Title Track [WATCH]

Buzz 16:20PM EDT

Rick Ross's most recent studio album, "Hood Billionaire," was released yesterday, Nov. 24, and today the Florida rapper has shared the music video for the album's title track, which you can check out below. Not that much happens in the video: Ross raps at the camera, flaunts some cash in a dark room and is occasionally interrupted by a few quick shots of the streets — it is not clear what streets exactly — as well as some real-life footage of Ross sitting courtside at a Miami Heat game. But what makes the video unusual is that is it peculiarly bookended by short promos for "Hood Billionaire" and the upcoming fourth installment of Maybach Records's Self Made compilation series, as well as some shout-outs to rappers Stalley, Meek Mill and even some advertisements for Wing Stop and Luc Belaire wine. It feels like you are watching the video in a movie theater — a crappy movie theater, but still. Since this is not a particularly hooky track — or even a star-studded one, since Ross appears on his own — it seems as if this video was made as more of an advertisement for the album as a whole rather than just for this one song. You can check out Rick Ross's music video for "Hood Billionaire" here:READ MORE

Timbaland Reacts to Lifetime's Aaliyah Biopic: Producer Calls the Film 'Bulls--t' Via Social Media [WATCH]

Buzz 17:17PM EDT

Lifetime's Aaliyah biopic premiered last night, Nov. 15, and so far no one has been impressed by it. "Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B" has actually been catching a fair amount of flak from artists and fans alike. Producer and Aaliyah friend Timbaland took to his social media accounts to voice his displeasure with the movie. Timbaland's Instagram is littered with memes throwing shade at the biopic. He even posted a video, "Billboard" points out, where he talks about his problems with the film. "I think everyone [sic] musician portrayed in this Aaliyah movie should sue the hell out Lifetime movie for failure of accurate casting," he said in the video. "A lot of people keep asking me if I'm watching that bullshit. Evidently not," Timbaland added in another post. "No way. Not Timbo. People, thanks for the comments tonight on that bullshit Aaliyah movie. They have felt Timbo's wrath tonight, baby, and that's it."READ MORE
